UPDATE In Milan It Is Still About Girls On Bikes

The mens photos should start Monday at Men.Style.com

I'm going to the Details magazine party tonight and Jil Sander first thing Sunday morning. Don't forget to check here and Style.com.

The first big impression of the women here is that they still look really good after forty. I have seen more cool 40 something women than cool 20 year olds

Women riding anything on two wheels is hot. Fabulously dressed women riding anything on two wheels reaffirms my faith in humanity.

Where are you on Style.com? Can you post a link?

Blogger WWND said ... (1:20 PM) :

Wish I was in Milan.
Looking forward to more women's pics.

buon viaggio!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:42 PM) :

what pics should we look out for on men.style.com?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:16 PM) :

I love Milan.... everyone dresses so well there.... wish we did the same in NY , land of the Britanny Spear flip-flops

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:16 PM) :

As an avid cyclist it does my heart good to see woman or men riding, but a woman riding a bit in a skirt, now that is hot, I love it. These ladies all have great legs too.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:17 PM) :

Great seeing some pictures , hope to see some great characters in wonderful clothing

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:19 PM) :

the 40-year olds have a better sense of style and pride , the 20-year olds wear ripped jeans , flip-flops , big glasses

Blogger Unknown said ... (2:40 PM) :

I am so tickled that you shot this exquisitely dressed woman riding her bike.

And somehow, the fact that she's wearing the iconic big sunglasses makes this all the more real.

Thank you so much for sharing your visions with us!

Where is your blog on style.com? Can't seem to find it there.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:13 PM) :

women get more beautiful as they age

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:35 PM) :

que bella es la vida !!!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:35 PM) :

40 year old women ARE cooler than 20 year olds ... everywhere.... though those in Milan are by far COOLER than those in the rest of Europe--- they're much more fashion-conscious , and much more stylish and refined

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:40 PM) :

As someone who's a recent entrant in the fortysomething category, I continue to be inspired by stylish European women.

Looking forward to your pics and commentary from Milan! Hope the weather's nice...it sure looks that way!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:56 PM) :

yes, but how much you want to bet those 40 year old would give anything to be 20 again? I know I would. Being 20 is priceless, fashion faux pas and all...

Blogger Frida said ... (8:34 PM) :

Girls on bikes and hot summerdresses to be exact =)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:50 PM) :

Most women look good after forty, actually. I just went to my 30th high school reunion, and most of us still looked amazing...

It's just that most American men expect all women to look and act like twenty-somethings, or else they ignore them. No appreciation of gorgeous older women.

Blogger la femme said ... (12:37 AM) :

I agree with pavel.

Thank you so much for these gorgeous shots!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:47 AM) :

do you mean "che bella e la vita"?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:00 AM) :

I lived in ITA for a while. They're most likely in their early 30's than 40...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:14 AM) :

all MEN (american or european ) want younger women , that has nothing to do with the fashion tastes of 40-year old women vs. 20-year old women

Blogger Gigi said ... (1:03 PM) :

I love your pics so far! Being a 40-something woman myself I look forward to more!

This is in response to anonymous_7:56.

There is NO WAY IN HELL I would be 20 again. Not unless I could take what I've learned from being in my 30s and (again, for a little over a year) 40s. Without that, being 20 again would be a complete waste IMO.

Yeah, being able to eat whatever you want and not exercise is great. Being completely naive about the world isn't. And even though today's 20-year-olds may be a little less naive given all the media they're deluged with, they're STILL inexperienced kids in more ways than they know.

Gotta say...it's really interesting being on this side of the age divide and seeing how completely self-absorbed and self-referential most young people are...and knowing that I was the exact same way at that age. :)

i love the dress thing, i love the shades, and....... I LOVE THE BIKE!!!!!!! I want a bike like that:)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:38 AM) :

But of course, we 40 something women are hot!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:59 AM) :

thank you thank you for finally showing women WEARING HELMETS.

of course, they're riding a motorbike, which makes it a no-brainer, but please keep your eyes peeled for fashionable women on bicycles wearing helmets! i wish someone had tips on how to somehow make the helmet look cool while on a bike or rollerblades. (and yes, i rollerblade in a skirt.)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:57 PM) :

The last picture reminds me of the Bouvier sisters, only more interesting and less combative.

Blogger Ali B. said ... (5:27 PM) :

Ahh... I was away all weekend cycling only to return to my favorite afternoon pitstop to discover beauty on bikes or is it.... women on beauty? Great legs indeed!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:31 AM) :

A nice blog with real good girls..

Anonymous Stress Management Training said ... (12:50 AM) :
