On The Street........Paris On Bleeker, West Village, New York

I don't know why this feels like the kind of shot I would have gotten in Paris.

I think is the pose: verrry naive.
You would expect a NY girl being more cheeky. But as the face hunter shows some Parisian girls are really cheeky after hours...

I think it's her hairstyle - very laid back and with no hair products. Pluss her descrete makeup. Her beauty is all natural. Lovely!

Gorgeous. I love the flip-flops--so elegant and sophisticated. They can go anywhere from the beach to the White House. I wish more women would wear flip-flops.

Yes, the pose...and the scarf--not just its presence, but something about its attitude.

hmm. i agree, maria. the dress is great but the ... gestalt is not. it's the pose, the iPod headphones, the scarf, the shoulder bag and, my personal peeve, the rubber slippers of the old navy variety (if i never see another pair of those, it will be too soon). imagine, if you will, this beautiful woman in this beautiful dress with a low heeled, peep-toed wedge and a doctor's bag or clutch. as it is, i feel rather like the dress is wearing the woman...

It's the scarf. Those Parisian women are crazy about their scarves. When I was there last August I saw an older woman wearing a neck brace, with an Hermes scarf tied fetchingly around it. She wasn't trying to hide the neckbrace, mind you. Just accessorizing it.

The flip-flops, on the other hand, are America at its worst. COuldn't we just burn them all?

though i can understand that flip-flops are convenient in some locales, how can one stand the notion of walking around, not just the city, but the subway in sandals that flop dirt up onto the back of the leg?

how funny mel! That's exactly what i was going to say! And seeing as Supre is very very mass market, during our summer earlier in the year practically every girl in sydney looked like her~ :) never let it be said that Australia is the fashion bumpkin of the world!

You recently took a photo in Paris of a girl sitting on a bench. The similarities seem to be the jewel tones and the modesty of the girl. They each look comfortable with who they are.

The flip flops ruin the well rounded look for me.

I love how the dress hangs at the collarbone, though.

Great shot. Great framing with the water pipe and building edge, and the window just lining the edge of her head.

The starkness of the background and its framing really focuses the composition on her.

I know this girl. she is very confortable with who she is, as someone suggested. Not to mention world traveled. As far the shot, I think it's a combination of those things and the setting behind her.

I am so excited I am on your beautiful website. I look so hesitant to let you take my photograph because I wasn't sure where it would end up. But you were so well dressed I figured it would be someplace good. I had just walked 50 blocks in those cheapy flip flops and had gladiator sandals in my bag for my in-office attire.
