can i venture to say, her complexion helps her pull of this look amazingly?

it seems as if she has some white eye make up on as well...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:06 AM) :

incredible..

Blogger Alison Santighian said ... (10:21 AM) :

And on a rainy day, at that. Gutsy...and gorgeous.

I love this shot, in which I see an illustration of how the adaptation of a suit-style jacket to the body can become a part of feminine style. As an aspiring "sartorialista" (if the female counterpart could be named in Italian as well as the French "sartorialiste"), I can't help noticing that the suit and its accessories are the basis for a really great discussion about what style means, that belongs almost exclusively to menswear. The discussion of female style usually has a completely different set of references.

Hooray for the "shrunken jacket" recently mastered by certain designers! But how often does something as small as a pocket square make a woman's look come together? I'm envious!

In that spirit I love the placement of the top button which this woman has deployed expertly. Her suit has a life of it's own--it's not reduced to a concept like "androgyny" (nothing against androgyny, though). Brava.

I believe that if you live in NYC as I do, as opposed to just visiting, you wouldn't think of so much dirt-prone white. She looks great...but not for long!

One of my favorite NYC jokes: Q - Do you know why New Yorkers always wear black? A - They're just waiting for something darker to come along! - JCH

Great look but not easily sustainable in raining weather... I dress in white in Greek summers but even then pants usually get dirty so easily...not to mention shoes...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:19 AM) :

gorgeous
I'm in love !!!

Blogger Lady Apple said ... (11:32 AM) :

love the all white! her skin looks beautiful with it! can't believe she is wearing it on a rainy day...if i did that the bottom of my pants would be all muddy!

Blogger ENID P. said ... (12:05 PM) :

whoa.

one of my favourite outfits! plus, i love white! crisp white suit with subtle gold buttons...nice.

white shoes as well??

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:24 PM) :

One thing for sure: she is gutsy. To wear white on a rainy day and with such a flair... not for everyone.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:56 PM) :

Ahhh....white....i'm in love with this colour.I definitely think it´'s the new black.
This woman looks soo glamorous !!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:03 PM) :

fabulous!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:43 PM) :

This is a great shot, iconic almost. She ought to be requesting the full file or a professional print from you shortly.

Blogger The G Manifesto said ... (7:26 PM) :

looks like someone you would give up your umbrella to for sure. And split a couple bottles of red with and see where it all leads. Great Style.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:11 PM) :

Stunning. Simply stunning. I have to get a white suit for my graduation.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:33 PM) :

White on a rainy day after Labor Day?
Not sure how I feel about that.

Blogger marie said ... (1:35 AM) :

I have been reading your blog for the past few months and am a huge fan. I especially love the pictures! :)

About the photo..I thought one was not supposed to wear white after Labor Day?

Blogger Fernanda Guedes said ... (9:33 AM) :

On a rainy day?! Double wow!

Blogger Cassandra said ... (11:00 AM) :

wow she looks hot! The umbrella gives the feeling of a balmy summer storm.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:12 PM) :

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:22 PM) :

I hope this picture finally kills that inane "rule" about wearing white after Labor Day.

Blogger Shopaholic D said ... (11:09 PM) :

i think your caption is perfect for this photo! just wow :)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:27 AM) :

Cute, but impractical. At least she has an umbrella.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:55 AM) :

My goodness! She looks like as if she were a working Angel.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:54 PM) :

the white beauty! gotta love it!! the gold buttons on that suit-style jacket add to the polished look, and give it an extra touch of elegance. All enhanced by her tone of skin and body.
great shot!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:49 AM) :

ditto that WOW!

Blogger hoi polloi said ... (6:12 PM) :

She probably had a car waiting for her. When you're rich you can wear outrageously uncomfortable or impractical things like that because there's a car waiting to whisk you away to wherever

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:40 AM) :

wow.

She is pulling off a Halle Berry thing but she is even prettier than Halle Berry.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:18 PM) :

Love the rise on the pant.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:34 PM) :

The perfect Storm...

...and somewhere, there is a thick, muddy mud puddle with her name on it!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:27 AM) :
