Does he usually look that normal? I thought he bleached his hair blonde, wore severely cartoon-like glasses, and was a little pudgy. I didn't expect to see someone more elegant and manly.

Saw the piece in today's NYT on Amy Arbus' downtown photos and thought of you ...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:38 PM) :

Love that juxtapositioning of patterns ..... and the colors are fierce

if you were to hear the name "hamish bowles" and not have any idea what he looked like, THIS is what he would look like.

i like the purple & black combo

I remember seeing his photo in an odd but fascinating book called The Englishwoman's Wardrobe, published in the 1980's. Yes, "eccentric" would certainly be the word to describe him...

I really love the way Hamish loves purple.

Love the way he tops the 2-pattern move with a purple jacket.

I too thought of the Sartorialist as Amy Arbus' heir.

His hame IS onomatopoetic, as it were....

The bold shirt and tie pattern- matching DOES seem to be a Brit specialty....

Blogger Solomon Animashaun said ... (8:28 AM) :

Hamish has a very unigue look.....and he has definatly pulled this one off!

Blogger stylePOVist said ... (10:30 AM) :

Hamish is my hero, he always always look good and classy, even natural power (i.e.wind) can't stop his ultra elegance.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:33 PM) :

Love the patterns!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:22 PM) :

Fantastic! Love it! Love it! Love it!
