At Armani

He wears this look all the time and he just owns it.
He looks so natural in it to me that eventually when I see him in something different it will surprise me a little.

Comments on "At Armani"

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:19 AM) :

He looks rather like a cartoon character...especially from the knees down.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:19 AM) :

Great picture, but can't say much for the clothes. They simply do not fit, no matter how much he may want this to be his "look".

Blogger www.jennyhyun.tv said ... (8:30 AM) :

I think when it comes to men, it's great to see them sticking to one kind of style. It shows they're comfortable with themselves and confident with their look, and that's very sexy.

There's something off about seeing men trying to follow the latest trends, seems a bit insecure if you ask me.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:04 AM) :

qlooks like a thom browne suit or something like it.
also the hair and posture is very thom browne.
they must be freaking out at armani.

Blogger Rafe Totengco said ... (9:09 AM) :

Tom Browne has conquered Paris. He may have bought TB at Colette. Last time I was there a gaggle of fashionistas were oohing and aahing at his wares. I'm missing the scarf though, that finishing touch, you know.

Blogger andrés said ... (9:38 AM) :

jajajajja
It must be difficult to think about him dressed about any other way in spite of these so short trousers
wonderful!

Blogger Butch said ... (9:40 AM) :

Here's an outfit that seems to straddle the line of planned and unplanned; but the more you look, the more it seems thought-through.

I'm all for idiosyncratic uniforms, and this certainly qualifies as such. Wearing it all the time would enhance it's style value....

Blogger olive said ... (9:58 AM) :

i love that his pants are just a little too short, and he is wearing just a simple white t-shirt. lovely.

Blogger Jenny said ... (10:21 AM) :

those pants...he looks fantastic.

Blogger whyioughtta said ... (10:31 AM) :

Shockingly, I find myself liking the floods. A lot. Here's to individuality!

I like everything except the suit jacket. (Short pants are one thing, but a too-small jacket just looks ill-fitting.) Everything else is pretty cool, though.

Blogger bluebird said ... (10:56 AM) :

i think it's awesome when someone can make something that to most would seem bizarre look really natural.

Blogger Hillary said ... (11:14 AM) :

This is a fantastic look. His face and his clothes demand a second look, very surreal and lovely!

Blogger Alice Olive said ... (11:44 AM) :

He's very cute and the photo itself is cute. Although if I wasn't seeing him on your blog, I wonder if I'd be asking why his suit was ill-fitted.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:57 AM) :

Okay, sorry, but I just can't stop laughing at those pants. Thanks for giving me my morning chuckle, Sart!

Blogger Stephen said ... (12:00 PM) :

No, no, no. This just does not look right. The trousers are too short and the jacket does not fit correctly to me. The coat is very nice, and the overall color scheme is complementary, but the fit is all wrong.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:11 PM) :

who is this chap? A buyer no doubt!

Blogger Cut of cloth said ... (1:04 PM) :

What an extraordinary looking character
Who is he?
and
WHY?
I feel as I should buy him a suit that fits!
Don't know why
this is bringing out mother in me!
But it does look as if he's in his school uniform
and has just been caught
behind the bike sheds
smoking a cigarette
Stop stop stop
I'm becoming obsessed...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:36 PM) :

Tee hee. I second "cut of cloth." I find, however, that the picture is stunningly beautiful (even though Blogger won't let me enlarge it for some reason).

mltt

Blogger RoseAG said ... (3:33 PM) :

I think if you saw this fellow someplace besides Armani you'd think he just fell off the freight car.

The short pants make his feet look big and remind me of stereotypical farm boy.

Good thing he hangs with a cool crowd.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:39 PM) :

Oh, he looks wonderful! I love rule-benders!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:21 PM) :

This is over the top and sorry but I love it.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:21 PM) :

Paul Reubens played this joke twenty years ago, and it's still hilarious. That is the intended effect, right? If not, just lengthen all the garments one and a half to two inches, add a white oxford cloth button down and a skinny black knit tie, and you've got a fair rendition of 1950s hip, a good look even now.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:43 PM) :

Tom Browne has been making a stealth attack on the hemlines of men's pants for awhile now, and I found it amusing. I find it hard to believe it will catch on -- men are far less susceptible to being fashion victims than women, and this man definitely looks like a victim.

With his hollow cheeks and somber expression, he looks like somebody tossed him the next random suit in the pile just before he walked out of the prison door. Or perhaps a better analogy is an 8th grade boy wearing his communion suit to grammar school graduation.

I know the guys are looking for something else to wear, and there are other breakout men's fashions that I can see -- definitely kilts/skirts, and shall we have knee breeches again?, but these chopped off pants look so awkward. There just isn't anything about the line that is attractive. Maybe boys will be boys, but I suspect the women will look at someone dressed like that and see an overgrown juvenile.

Blogger Janets Planet said ... (5:25 PM) :

Well, if his feet werent so big ....

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:56 PM) :

His look reminds me of Adrian Brody in "The Pianist".

The short pants make him look like he must be 7' tall! But they do make a statement that screams confidence, it also says "trend setter not follower".

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:26 PM) :

He looks like an escaped mental patient. That's what he looks like.

Blogger Unknown said ... (6:33 PM) :

judging from the wrinkles he might just be wearing this suit all the time.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:35 PM) :

S'cuse me. There are so many negative people here, everyone is entitlet to an opinion, I know, but try at least to be a bit open minded. I would love to have seen this guy passing me on the street. He is different, his suit fits different, and its fun. No one is forcing anyone to wear pants like these. This is just a guy that brings some color to our very grey shadish pallette of life. Rock on you cool dude! Ps. I wished you had more elegant shoes, slimmer ones..

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:23 PM) :

This skinny pant look is retarded and not proper sartorial dressing.

His jacket does not fit and he forgot his shirt.

This is "pop fashion" triumphing over substance.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:26 PM) :

He has borrowed the look from jean Reno in the Hollywood remake of "The Professional". If not reno, then the style owes much to Disney's Goofey and the vacuum cleaner salesman cat from an episode of Tom & Jerry....or wait, it's Tin Tin all grown up

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:43 PM) :

A Monty Python sketch rendered in fabric. Absurde.

Blogger EightyJane said ... (9:34 PM) :

those short pants are very fall07

Blogger Jason Hahn said ... (12:14 AM) :

I'm sorry, but that short pants look is just so wrong it's hard to know where to begin. It just spoils what might otherwise have been a really good look.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:18 AM) :

everything here works for me - the shoes, the mod pants including the wrinkles, the tight jacket....i like it all. not to mention this guy is hot. i think you must not get it

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:25 AM) :

Substance! Hilarious. Please. Consider the silliness of what you're saying.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:40 AM) :

Probably one of the most influential men in fashion and the best dressed straight man in fashion by a country mile. Only those of you obsessed with petty and archaic fashion 'rules' would slight his style. He is a true fashion leader and thank god for that. We have enough badly dressed conformists.

Blogger spacelounge said ... (5:46 AM) :

Seriously, can the "jacket too small, pants too short" stop, please?
The size and length were active choices made by him, so they are per definition NOT too short. They are in fact as intended, and therefore just how they should be.

I like this look, especially with the white t-shirt.
I just wish that people would stop screaming "Thom Browne!!" just because someone has short pants. This does not look like Browne.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:19 PM) :

Why is it that women get away with playing with fashion all time, ex. hem length on pants, jacket lengths, colors, and not one word is said about them. But when a man challenges the accepted, conservative sensibilities of clothes, he is called many unfavorable things. Mental patient, cartoon character, etc. Comment on the clothes, not the person.

I applaud his bravery. I wish I have it. Oh by the way, Thom Browne does not own short pants. Everyone in the fifties and sixties dressed like him. Way to go!

Please post back the photo.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:54 PM) :

Unique, perhaps. I too would be 'uniquely' attired, were I to leave the house wearing underwear outside the pants, as recommended by Woody Allen in the film 'Bananas'. The question is does it look nice? No. Men's clothes should be more rooted in tradition than women's - whose styles have been guided by exisitng social mores and are deisgned to attract the attention of men (let's face it). Thom Browne, acclaimed for this cartoonish style and for supposeldy 'saving the suit' looks a tad ridiculous and no matter how fashionable a trend he sets (or even how stylish - for he does have a style, the style of the set from the toons in 'Who Framed Roger Rabbit'), he cannot be said to be elegant and suggests something 'latent'....I'm thinking closet doors being tightly shut for fears of being suddenly opened.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:23 PM) :

I like the look. If one loves classic style, this man is the least of your worries. Worry more about the hoodies, the dockers, the white socks, the running shoes worn every day, every where, on so many other men.

I also miss the photo. Where did it go?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:48 PM) :

David is one of the most stylish guys ever. He has been wearing his short pants for years and years. Well before Thom Browne even picked up his tailors shears.
A fantastic man with a Paul Newman sexy edge...... ICONIC.

Anonymous Princess said ... (5:02 AM) :

Looks like a Thom Browne outfit or something like that, hair and attitude is very similar to Thom Browne, might be freaking out at Armani
