Too Practical For My Own Good

I'm often too practical for my own good. I never would have thought of putting teal socks with this look but this look would not be nearly as cool without them.

i have socks in the exact same colour :) love it!

This one's got the mad style! I think the blue socks are only part of it; the girl's charming!

Blogger fashion in theory said ... (9:42 PM) :

i like the nonchalance of the gesture as well. and the lace skirt is super cute and not to frilly for her.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:51 PM) :

Definitely agree on the socks. Plus, the utilitarian Army coat worn with a lace skirt and fur bag is high-low genius.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:07 PM) :

I love the fur bag as well.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:07 PM) :

Does anyone know where her bag is from? Or at least the designer?

Blogger Lady Apple said ... (10:20 PM) :

I don't know...I guess this look is a bit much for me, but somehow she pulls it off!

Blogger Claire said ... (10:42 PM) :

very cute. I like her jacket too.

I do not love the fur bag trend going on this season.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:42 PM) :

i love her style and the socks break up the bottom portion perfectly

Adore it, and frequently do it myself. My staple color palate is muted; black, grey, and military green, punctuated by candy colored accessories... Makes the look really pop. Plus, love the embroidery on the scarf.

Blogger mareGa said ... (11:20 PM) :

OK, it is pale blue (gloves). My bad. But the cleaning gloves feeling its still hanging around!

Blogger Blue Floppy Hat said ... (11:20 PM) :

Great shot, she looks amazing. I don't know which to covet more- her socks, the cream ankle boots, or her parka. The dress she's got on under it is lovely, too.

Blogger Blue Floppy Hat said ... (11:22 PM) :

And even the furry bag doesn't look yucky on her. A true Sartorialista, this one :)

Blogger Emilieee said ... (11:26 PM) :

nice socks and I like her dress too :)lacy black on the top and light-beige fabric underneath.

I like the whole look, this girl is so cute!

oh and you look nice in your scarf--it brings out your lovely eyes.

the socks brilliantly juxtapose her furry bag. I admire erratic behavior.

Blogger jawcey said ... (7:04 AM) :

Yep - very charming. I've been contemplating getting some shoes like that. Her style gives me more incentive and ideas on how to wear them :)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:09 AM) :

I think the 'big coat' look works on this girl, it still has a kind of shape to it. I've seen a lot of folk doing the 'big coat' look and sabotaging themselves by walking around in a tent!

By the way... i really love the webstite. Keep it up.

Only the Japanese can get away with these odd yet refreshing combinations. Turquoise peeking through a grey bootie looks divine. The only thing that makes her demode for me is the cigarette.
I guess after fashion, it's her second vice.

Blogger Carolina Lange said ... (11:00 AM) :

She looks great!

Blogger NATRIBU said ... (5:44 PM) :

She is bold and original. I like her!

Why does smoking (when done properly) always look so COOL? Forget I said that. Don't smoke, it's bad for you. But she looks great.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:55 AM) :

The bag is GUCCI. 85th anniversary collection.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:45 PM) :

I totally agree that the pop of blue/teal from the socks really energizes the ensemble, but what I'm really drooling over is the fabulous dress or skirt she's wearing. I wonder if its a lacy black skirt over another skirt, or if its an all in one layered look...either way, its sensational!
