On the Street...Lampshade Hat, Sodermalm, Stockholm

This young lady would only agree to let me take her photo if she could wear the lampshade she just bought as a hat.

She bought it to wear to a party later that night.

Fashion should be fun.

That really works! Sort of a throw back to those huge hat with trains from King Louis XIV's court.

Funny and fabulous!!

If you see someone in SoHo with a lamp shade on his head, it's me. :-)

she would steal hearts at the fifth ave easter parade--sweet!

Funny as it may seem to some, I actually think this works really well, especially in enhancing the exotic element to the outfit. And to be able to wear a lampshade without it looking like one (I would not have known if you did not clarify that), it takes someone with real confidence. Kudos!

As a younger male who prefers a more casual/street look, I'd love to be able to work that clay(?) and grey combo into my next outing.

It makes a lovely headdress, too. And it reminds me a bit of Tibetan or Nepali headdresses in my part of the world.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:20 AM) :

Yeah, what blue floppy hat said. It takes a special kind of person to put a lampshade on her head and have me wondering if it's a genuine piece of headwear.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:40 PM) :

Gothic and Lolitaesque.....kinda.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:08 PM) :

I read somewhere you liked the Stockholm style. I'm glad you did, it makes me proud of my country. Hope you will be back in Scandinavia soon!
