I would love it if it didn't remind me of garbage bags...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:39 PM) :

Well, the French still got it....
But what is this craze about high super-wide belts lately... To be honest, I am not the biggest fan. But to be fair, in the case of this women it complements really nice.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:59 PM) :

I miss her Prada sandals. ;-)

Blogger Laguna Beach Fogey said ... (8:08 PM) :

Beautiful photo, Scott. You really captured it here.

I love the dress, the belt, and the boots--especially the boots. Very nice. Her choice of dress pattern and colour is lovely, if occasionally a little offbeat. This young lady always looks so elegant and sophisticated, that my frozen heart starts to thaw a bit whenever I see her on your blog.

Sart, I have to say, you are becoming the Martin Parr of the fashion world. And that's a good thing!

Blogger Elizabeth said ... (8:19 PM) :

She looks great in that dress with the wide belt. It's a challenging proportion, and perfect for her.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:26 PM) :

tnx, sart! that pic made my day. she definitely knows how to look classy. and definitely 'sexy' is not about to show; its about to hide.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:34 PM) :

elle est tres belle, but I don't love the proportions. give me some torso!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:53 PM) :

Not crazy about the print or belt up close, but from a bit of a distance it all comes into effect! Very neat.

Blogger Unknown said ... (9:01 PM) :

Ahh my favorite Italian woman!

(Sorry, Miuccia)

Blogger Barbara said ... (9:31 PM) :

I'm a fan. She always looks great.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:46 PM) :

i ♥ her style!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:12 PM) :

This is great inspiration for women who work in conservative envirtonments and have to wear suits and suit-type clothes to work. I like the length and fit of the skirt and the use of a belt. I also like how the neckline would work in an office like mine. I am so happy to see this picture. I really am inspired by it.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:18 PM) :

looks great as usual
love the boots w/that dress!

Blogger 'The Rock Inc' said ... (10:22 PM) :

I like the dress. The artsy trend is still going strong in the upcoming season.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:01 PM) :

gorgeous!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:11 PM) :

Dear Sartorialist,

My dearest wish for this year to come is to see you marry the wonderfully gorgeously pretty miss Battaglia in order to be able to take a dangerously insane number of pictures of her closets and of he genuine choices of dress!

Have a good year and you know what's left to be done for you, Sarto.

Bonne fashion weeks in Europe and USA!

Yay for purple and I sort of want her outfit. Grey gloves too, tres classy *hearts*

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:20 PM) :

Now this is something I like. She is very chic. And has paid a lot of attention to her outfit. Yet the look is effortless. Wonderful match of colors. I don´t know if she is wearing one dress on top of another or is top one a coat.Whatever. It looks fine.

Blogger Cramped Kitchen. said ... (11:22 PM) :

your blog inspires me to start taking more photographs...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:41 PM) :

Wow, this is beautiful. I love the deep range of blues and the just quirky enough pattern on the dress to offset the dark tones of her coat and boots. One of the best shots, IMHO, you've done in a while. Really gorgeous :D

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:51 AM) :

She always looks amazing. Those boots are incredible! I'm not usually a fan of wide belts, especially above the waist like that, but it works on her. Love it.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:54 AM) :

Once again this woman has done it. She looks fabulous. Sigh. Elegant and nonchalant simultaneously.
Beautiful photograph as well - love the perspective and the blurry man.

Blogger Kara said ... (1:03 AM) :

Absolutely wonderful: it's flattering, well-executed, and just plain sharp.

(The fact that she'll have a picture taken with her hand in her dress-pocket solidifies my suspicion that I could never look like that. I have too much thigh to add a hand's width to.)

Should I know who she is?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:56 AM) :

Where is the dress from? I love the vivid print...Marni maybe? I think the belt gives it a sophisticated shape. Altogether is works beautifully.

Blogger gabrielazeanadal@hotmail.com said ... (4:26 AM) :

She is such a beautiful lady! I love the shapes and colours of her outfit, but I'm not a fan of those shinny textures in her boats and jacket.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:24 AM) :

Realy love that Marni dress.

Better with platform sandals and 3/4 black coat and saint laurent muse grey bag.

Blogger MARIA H said ... (9:05 AM) :

Love her dark hair!!!
What a face! And yeah I still have a girl chrush on la Bataglia!
Keep her images coming Scott.

Blogger Alice Olive said ... (9:19 AM) :

Always so elegant and beautiful. I don't really notice what she's wearing, more her beautiful serene expression. What a face. (Although those boots do catch my eye too!!)

Blogger Alya said ... (10:36 AM) :

She's absolutely leggy! Such style!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:34 AM) :

Perfect. This woman always looks insanely elegant. There is a certain intelligence to way she dresses...wish i could explain that.

i would be grateful if someone identified the pieces: jacket, dress, and boots.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:55 AM) :

A wide belt looks great, especially on people like me who have a longer torso. I think she looks perfectly chic.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:32 PM) :

The boots make the everything work here (that and oh yeah, she is gorgeous)...

No other shoe could make that outfit so fabulous...

Blogger Paul Whang said ... (1:39 PM) :

i love this woman. WORK WHAT YOU GOT, G!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:23 PM) :

I love everything about her look; the belt and boots are great, but her style is more than the sum of its parts!

The background is also carefully chosen, the grids on the windows and the dots on the street echo the patterns of the outfit.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:04 PM) :

I saw her the other day in Uniqlo. She is so beautiful...she always is.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:48 PM) :

Her boots are killer.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:15 AM) :

love her, the colors and proportions, but the dress doesn't seem to be sitting well on her. Perhaps there's a friction issue - skirt bunching up on the tights and showing the lining?

Blogger Unknown said ... (1:01 PM) :

lower the belt you look deformed

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:47 PM) :

what a beauty!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:19 PM) :

There's something about those boots that says medieval knight. Perhaps the lines on her feet?

Ah, this woman inspires me every time! Please don't stop!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:29 PM) :

Quelle Parisienne!!! So chic.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:37 AM) :

Battaglia loves high skirts and big belts and I think that is a strategy that works well with her size and shape. I think her choices tend to help her by highlighting her long legs, attractive hips, a big smallish in the shoulders and with a beautiful face.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:08 AM) :

I love, love the print of the print with the belt and leather jacket. There was something so urban about the whole look. The high boots were a pleasant surprise. :)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:53 PM) :

that wide belt looks very cheap in comparison to the other garments she has chosen to wear. i think there is just too much shine/texture/print in this outfit and the black tights are not exactly working with those boots seeing that they are a slightly different hue of black. that dress is fabulous but perhaps it would look more flattering with a skinny belt in a white or off white worn with heels and bare legs in the spring.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:03 AM) :

Very chic. Love the proportions.

Blogger Mélanie said ... (10:53 AM) :

Looks gorgeous ! I'm a fan

Blogger Giulia said ... (11:26 AM) :

The French still got what?
Anyway, I think she's one of the best dressed Italian Woman.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:25 PM) :

To me this is the coolest girl on this site.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:30 PM) :

... she is my litle bb and she is alays the best! :)
