i love the belt.

Blogger Nadine said ... (5:26 PM) :

WOW. Love it!

(Are light-coloured tights back in style? If so, yay!)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:42 PM) :

I love the grey on grey especially with the tights and open-toe pumps.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:43 PM) :

is that neck for real?

Blogger Unknown said ... (5:43 PM) :

The jacket and the bag? Like butta.

Blogger gabrielazeanadal@hotmail.com said ... (5:49 PM) :

This girl is incredibly gorgeous, that hair! And this is the best picture you have taken of her so far. I love how that trench adds some slight toughness to a very girly look.

Blogger The Duchess said ... (5:50 PM) :

Hard to compete.

Blogger SageVanity said ... (5:58 PM) :

the belt is so glam!
i love the outfit!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:06 PM) :

she's maria kerner, buyer for accessories for the huge company Mercury from russia. I've see her, and is beautiful

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:18 PM) :

What a perfect combination of everything! I'd only have one bag though. The rest of the look is gorgeous

Blogger Unknown said ... (6:23 PM) :

she's carrying not one but two YSL bags!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:25 PM) :

che belissima!
what a trend to spot.
the jacket, skirt and belt combo are killing me.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:40 PM) :

She's beautifully put together, and it's a great outfit.

I do wish, however, that you would branch out from this sort of "casual glamor" style that you are so fond of. Obviously outfits like this are great looking but I think there's some elitism in the types of looks you exhibit - not in terms of price point, but in terms of the lifestyle that demands the sorts of looks you show. Obviously it is your chosen aesthetic and you are entitled to that. I just think it would be interesting to see what you think of as chic for the less socializing among us.

Blogger Mischo Beauty said ... (7:27 PM) :

The whole outfit is fierce! Can't wait to see your exhibit in DC!!

Blogger SocalStyle said ... (8:25 PM) :

That shoe color is gorgeous. I have been seeing a lot if it lately.

Blogger Carolina Lange said ... (8:27 PM) :

Her shoes are amazing!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:27 PM) :

Sassy gal. But the pose struggles against the skirt, no?

Blogger Unknown said ... (8:29 PM) :

That the scarf is layered so as to be longer than the trench jacket is an eyecatching detail. There are so many contrasts in texture with this look that give it a "rich" appeal. The amethyst teardrop earing is a nice detail as are the similarly hued hose.

Blogger MDS* said ... (8:32 PM) :

This girl is so beautiful!
I remember that you picture her some months ago wearing flat ballerinas...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:10 PM) :

Its those tights - 2 years from now one would look at this shot and think 'What was she thinking'. Looks aside thats makes the outfit off

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:15 PM) :

Wow, this is gorgeous. I think grey is one of the most underrated of colors, and this is simply stunning proof (the black background makes her stand out like a jewel to boot). It looks like the earrings may be picking up the purple as well--nice touch.

Blogger Unknown said ... (10:11 PM) :

I love the subtlety of the colors she is wearing - the grays and violets look astounding with her blue eyes. She looks so beautifully overcast...or like she got caught up in a huge ball of denim dryer lint, but fought it off with her courageous femininity and came out looking ridiculously chic! I mean this in the best way possible.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:11 PM) :

Beautiful outfit. Every color seems to blend into the next.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:27 PM) :

I like the color, and the pencil skirt, but overall this outfit looks fussy and uncomfortable to me. Her shirt peaking out below the belt at the waist looks tacky to me, as do the shoes. She's a beautiful woman, but this is not really chic to.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:27 PM) :

Drop dead gorgeous! Two bags?

Blogger Austin.Garnett said ... (10:39 PM) :

i agree about seeing a more average person's outfit, and maybe at least being a little more selective about which of the dressier people gets posted. but in fairness, you do showcase that more casual look sometimes.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:29 PM) :

wow, she is gorgeous and fantastically dressed

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:08 AM) :

Si belle!!

Blogger High Rhapsody said ... (12:29 AM) :

the grey tone is beautiful..the two bags are a plus..ysl=A+

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:11 AM) :

This is flawless - hair, skirt, belt, earrings, handbag, shoes. Amazing ensemble.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:22 AM) :

Pretty lady. Too bad I can't say the same for the outfit.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:23 AM) :

i actually really dont like it.

there's too much going on all at once for me to appreciate it as an overall look. especially dont like the white tights with the lilac heels.

however, the belt is amazing, and she has gorgeous hair. beautiful girl, just dont like the outfit.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:55 AM) :

Gray and brown not only team beautifully (a cool/warm yin/yang) but are eachartful moderators of any color you pair them with separately: brown/purple starts my motor running, while gray/purple are peaceful, even sleepy together. Brown/yellow feel like nature, but gray/yellow make a rich impression. Brown/pink: sexy, but grey/pink: romantic.

And what a small amount of purple or violet was required to make it the subject of this color story ...

Blogger Diana said ... (3:55 AM) :

Was it really shot on the street?
Doesn't show.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:33 AM) :

REALLY cool are her RED toenails. WHOW!

Blogger marchingbandemporium said ... (4:50 AM) :

I actually don't like the belt and earrings combined with the rest of the outfit. I happen to think that kind of purple doesn't suit blue/grey. However, the rest of the look is great. Nice smile

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:51 AM) :

To mdahl -- check out sart's photos of India!

Blogger Kits said ... (7:25 AM) :

I love the look - she is so put together

Blogger Meemo said ... (7:45 AM) :

I love it...because the look actually looks really busy but purposeful. I love the pop of color in the belt, and the shoes are killer. I would drop off a bag if she can though, although both of them look pretty full. iTs a great play on neutrals.

Blogger Unknown said ... (7:56 AM) :

Are her eyes violet too??

Blogger Rice and Beans Vintage said ... (8:55 AM) :

I am honestly not loving this, it seems a bit over done. I do love the colors though, they are so light and spring like!

Blogger Alice Olive said ... (9:02 AM) :

I started to pick out individual elements that I like here and then I stopped myself. She looks fabulous and feminine and that's it. She's a Hitchcock femme.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:05 AM) :

great eyebrows!!!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:10 AM) :

Love this look: the grey is gorgeous, and her understated makeup perfectly matches the look. The touches of purple and blue liven the look, and the fabulous tights make her gentle shoes stand out. The fur adds a touch of class, while the bow is more feminine. A great play on something that might be more business-y.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:43 AM) :

wow never really thought of grey and purple, but its absolutely gorgeous!

wish I could see her shirt & belt more.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:43 AM) :

yes its quite obvious that she's russian. i feel this look is overdone and fussy

Blogger Jacq said ... (11:06 AM) :

I've been wearing purple and grey together this winter, and have loved it - glad that others like that combination as well!

Of course, I don't look as stylish as this girl...

Blogger k said ... (3:03 PM) :

Love everything but the tights...

Blogger Unknown said ... (3:06 PM) :

to mdahl: obviously you haven't been a sartorialist reader for too long. the sart DOES post photos of other kinds of styles, not only of ueberfashionists. I appreciate the fact that he is capable of noticing that not only the rich and beautiful have a sense of style. Ok, this look is a bit over the top, but she IS russian, and you can't deny that she looks gorgeous. and even if i don't walk around with two ysl bags (couldn't even afford one) i do enjoy looking at photos of people who do.
have a look at the archives.

Blogger Kwana said ... (4:28 PM) :

I love the shoes and the length of that skirt.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:11 PM) :

I had a hard time getting past the tights, but you gotta love that high-waisted skirt with the belt!

Blogger amyw said ... (5:20 PM) :

Love, love, LOVE the shoes. And I love how she juxtaposed the different shades of grey. Just a great ensemble!

Blogger skoraq cooks said ... (5:26 PM) :

I like the way she plays with different shades of grey. And a plus for white tights. In general I think of white tights as a very serious cliche, but this time they work perfectly fine with the rest of the outfit.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:38 PM) :

Fantastic - one of the coolest women I've ever seen on here.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:37 PM) :

There's too much going on.
I like the different materials in play and how she contrasts shiny with matt and sheen, but it doesn't work. If she was standing normally with her body directly forward, it'd be even more noticeable. One barely notices the ruffles on her shirt because of the scarf and her outfit makes her body look disproportionate (neck uber long, uper body is barely there) and that pose does little for that skirt and her lower body length. It's a shame because everything individually is wonderful (except the front bag).

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:52 PM) :

blouse buttons showing thru the skirt suggests it's a bit too tight.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:16 PM) :

she looks great! i love the gray-purple spectrum she's playing with. surprisingly, i really like the color of her stockings.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:54 PM) :

You can tell shes a stylist of some sort, her hair is perfect, I wonder if its all hers. I like the tights, I think it would look great without them too, and I love that high waisted skirt and the belt, she is wearing all my favorite colors. Her eyebrows bother me though, I don't know why.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:09 AM) :

She looks like a Russian Beyonce!

Does someone have the link to her picture with ballerina flats?

Blogger Unknown said ... (2:43 AM) :

I think I just fell in love...her eyes. that outfit. flawless.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:08 PM) :

I actually really like her stockings. I am really, REALLY tired of tights right now, sheer coloured stockings seem incredibly fresh.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:18 PM) :

She made herself look short, regardless of her height. Less is more. She looks like a little girl playing dress up.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:34 AM) :

You who comment that there is "too much", just reflect that this is a woman on the street: coat, scarf, extra bag - all into the closet when she goes inside. I see her adjusting the belt to cover that little square inch of blouse, and looking pretty complete, together and ... pretty, in the blouse, belt, skirt ... a romantic look for a romantic=looking woman. (Who no doubt also carries off a mini and boots with no effort.)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:06 AM) :

Beautiful woman but not effortlessly chic. Too much...too hard:(

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:46 PM) :

El bolso es el de YSL y los zapatos parecen Louboutin.

Blogger MaryMary-Jane said ... (2:49 PM) :

perfekt colors and it also match to her eyes.but why she put this belt on?

Blogger jenifa said ... (10:37 PM) :

The purple belt is perfect. The second bag picks up the colour. But its the shoes and stockings that i love the most. Having them on good gams and feet is an advantage.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:44 PM) :

regardless of what is on her, the overall effect is pure elegance. this entire look as a whole is genius. alot of girls would pair this with sheer stockings or even re-arrange some other pieces and do black tights, but the legs just bring it together. seamless.... this type specific look definitely shows a mean and MASSIVE closet...

Blogger bomb.ass.ting said ... (7:53 PM) :

How I wish her hair was a solid color.

Blogger Mlle M. said ... (11:45 PM) :

I love this look not in spite of but BECAUSE her skirt is tight, she has two big designer bags, and she's rocking the super high-maintenance long highlighted hair. LOVE IT! And I actually do like the pale stockings.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:21 PM) :

She is great looking.Russian women love to dress so that they are noticed. Both YSL bags are great and the jacket and the belt and the dress. The color of the tights and shoes could be a bit darker. Well, anyways, there is not much more to be said.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:50 AM) :

Sart,
Is this Aishwarya Rai? Looks just like her, if so do tell about your encounter with her!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:40 PM) :

va VOOM!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:11 PM) :
