Blogger Unknown said ... (8:56 AM) :

that skull necklace is the perfect accessory for a pirate halloween costume.

sometimes the back story is more fascinating than the clothes could ever be!

Blogger j'taimee said ... (9:00 AM) :

Blue: full marks for proper use of accessories....

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:06 AM) :

Oooh this has some splendid jazz to it.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:08 AM) :

Both these gentlemen look so cool in their completely different ways. Love that suit and i love the hat-necklace-espadrilles look. Great photo, Sart! i can't wait to be in New York again...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:13 AM) :

the guy on the right is soo hot.

Blogger Jorge from W Palm Beach said ... (9:14 AM) :

Ah! The guy on the left is wearing espadrilles! After reading quite a few online discussions on why they are not cool for men, I decided to just follow my instinct and order some- after noticing them on a couple of runways for SS '09. I mean, they have to beat flip-flops, right? I also see a tab-collar shirt, whose resurrection troubles me; that was a look that I really do not wish to see again(doesn't it come from the time when shirts had detachable collars, and people could not always afford to replace them when they wore out?). I will be interested to hear other comments on the giant skull necklace (who is wearing whom?). Jorge from W Palm Beach

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:17 AM) :

I love the way the guy on the left has gotten himself up, can't decide if the beads or the espadrilles are my favorite part. And before someone complains about the pleated pants, I think they work because his shirt is molded to his upper body and the slouchy pants are right. Woof!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:18 AM) :

two stylish men having a conversation? PERFECT I love what the guy in the blue shirt is wearing. I have seen the other guy's picture on here. Gosh.... I love their style.

Blogger Dan in Richmond said ... (9:20 AM) :

Nice shot. When you're this young and beautiful anything goes. Skull necklace with Panama hat and multiple bracelets worn with your watch?- no problem. Actually the whole thing makes a wild kind of visual sense. They couldn't be more relaxed while still paying (lots of) attention to the way they look. I like them both.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:26 AM) :

AYLABIT! this is my fav photo here so far.

Blogger O!Lightning said ... (9:29 AM) :

Helloooo Beautifuls

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:29 AM) :

do you think that his necklace might be made from the shrunken heads of his conquests?

watch out vespa rider!

Blogger Miguel said ... (9:33 AM) :

Very nice and very urban-modern. I would only tae out the sull collar but the everything else loos good to me!

Blogger Ann (MobayDP) said ... (9:47 AM) :

Some folks just have style written into their DNA.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:58 AM) :

Sart, you threw us a curve ball! That outfit is so confusing I don't know where to begin or end. Pleated pants rolled up, espadrilles, a skull necklace, gold cuff and a Panama hat! I wonder if he really thought that out or got dressed in the dark. Although I have to admit, he would look good in anything!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:03 AM) :

I simply MUST find a skull necklace like this! This will last longer than the floral leis I've become accustomed too.

Can anyone tell me where to find this wonderful piece?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:03 AM) :

This looks like a scene from a classic film.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:06 AM) :

Uggggh. Everything about this photograph makes me want to pick up and move to Paris.

Blogger mimi said ... (10:08 AM) :

aah it's that pretty boy from garance doré again! I love his chaplin-esque trousers...

Blogger Landis said ... (10:29 AM) :

if he had only taken off those damn bracelets, i would have married him.

alors!

Blogger Haiku runner said ... (10:35 AM) :

Both men look damned good! I love the hat and the espadrilles! So relaxed!

Blogger Ryan said ... (10:41 AM) :

The gentleman on the left looks amazing! Although he is very styled, it looks effortless on him. He makes me want to purchase a pair of pleated trousers and I'm not a fan of them.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:53 AM) :

That´s not a fashion foto, it´s a novela! Both men are so alive. OK, their clothes are quite expressive too. I especially like the bare neck of the dark suited gentleman.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:54 AM) :

this is one of my favorite pictures here so far.it looks like a scene from a new godard movie.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:56 AM) :

I call it "the new parisian style" car c'est un peu jazzy chic et nonchalant.

Le parisien se doit d'avoir un air nonchalant sinon c'est pas un vrai parisien :)

Blogger so said ... (11:00 AM) :

these 2 are gorgeous!

Blogger ricola said ... (11:19 AM) :

Stellar! Very french, like a new version of A Bout de Souffle, although the guy in the fantastic dark suit maybe sells something a little more romantic than newspapers. Copies of Homme Vogue maybe. Mr. Hat is magic head to toe. The skulls, the fit of the shirt in contrast to volume in his trousers, the crushed heel of his shoes. Mr. Sedgwick is no slouch either although his suit is nicely so. Perfect colours too.

Blogger do you like my tight sweater said ... (11:38 AM) :

timeless picture.
i cant imagine how can you find boys like this. i want to go to paris just right now.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:52 AM) :

The skull necklace steals the show. It touched me

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:01 PM) :

Tres cool !! On se demande de quoi ils peuvent bien parler.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:17 PM) :

The gentleman on the left is evidently an individual who sets trends, instead of following them, but the gentleman on the right is equally elegant in his more subdued approach to style. And I love how you've captured this shot, Sart!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:26 PM) :

They're so sexy, you barely even notice the guy on the left has on weird shoes!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:26 PM) :

As already mentioned, the guy on the right was featured on the fantastic Garance Dore, WARNING: He's quite disturbingly beautiful close-up....

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:31 PM) :

omg- the beauty....

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:45 PM) :

Agreeing with Landis that the bracelets are just the slightest tad too much. Bracelets sans timepiece? Perfect.

However: would have married him anyway.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:27 PM) :

good find, chap.

Blogger DOUBLE D CHERRY said ... (1:51 PM) :

I can't even tell how much I'm feeling the man's style on the left! This is a great summer look! The necklace, the hat, the shirt, and pants...this cat definitely knows how to rock it!
His 5 O'clock shadow adds to the look as well.

Blogger Jen Renninger said ... (2:19 PM) :

Love the photo as well as the clothes. A perfect compliment to your other compositions...

Blogger Olviya said ... (2:48 PM) :

welll, i like the mix of details, that styles left guy. he looks like very arty parisian r'n'b or smth like that...

it would be very interesting to talk to him)

Blogger Hannah Stephenson said ... (3:11 PM) :

An awesome study in contrasts. And I am so darn curious about the backstory...what are they talking about? How do they know eachother? Where's the motorcycle?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:39 PM) :

Skull necklace is a bit... much (I would love to see a smaller, subtler choker necklace version in that same color), but I love everything else about these two gentlemen's styles. Nice helmet, too! :3

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:13 PM) :

...what more can I say...mostly they think the same. FANTASTIC, and I agree with it. Sexy, stylish, relaxed and smart.

Blogger Scott W said ... (4:38 PM) :

They are both yummy!

I like tab collar shirts, but I like the collar larger than shown.

Blogger AA AA said ... (4:41 PM) :

the espadrilles are infinitely better than flip-flops or man-dals. I often wonder what to wear during the heat of the summer other than loafers or shoes sans socks.

Blogger The Spicers said ... (4:45 PM) :

Wow. What a great shot. I want to know what they're talking about...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:47 PM) :

Great photo but fashion-wise the guy in the blue shirt looks totally overdone to my eye. If I saw him on the street I would think he is trying too hard, especially with the skulls and wrist bling. The guy in the suit looks much better.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:36 PM) :

Wow. Theese guys got it going on alright.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:36 PM) :

Wow. What an amazing shot. The fashion in it is incredible as well. Definitely one of my favorites.

Blogger Laurence John said ... (6:25 PM) :

Jorge, you're right that shirt derives from the type that would have had a detachable collar, but that doesn't make it a tab collar shirt. a tab collar shirt has a latch which buttons midway behind the collar points and is hidden by the tie. it was popular in the 1930s.

Blogger Halie said ... (6:46 PM) :

Guy on the right is typical Parisian. I love it.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:54 PM) :

you mean...deux?

absolutely love both of them. the one on the left is a guy you dream of dating and have fun for a bit. and the one on the right is the one you would end up traveling the world with.

Blogger Unknown said ... (6:58 PM) :

why hello man in black! as for the man on the left - i'd love to see that skull/kakui nut necklace without those gold bangles.
nice capture!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:32 PM) :

what I love is that no one in Paris is going to snigger or laugh at this in your face, singular, honest statement. in almost any American city but NYC and LA, he'd probably be considered "weird." makes me want to live in Paris again!

Blogger Barbara said ... (9:21 PM) :

lovely shot!

Blogger junglesiren said ... (9:56 PM) :

This looks like a still from a French suspense thriller. It's the scene where they're plotting the murder of the husband of the woman they both love.....

These guys are HOT!

Blogger Eyeliah said ... (9:58 PM) :

The gentleman on the left has the best style - wow.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:56 PM) :

Would someone please send me to Paris? Dreamy. What a lovely study of the color blue and of what elevates the human form to insouciant gorgeousness.

Blogger Horse Hunting said ... (11:00 PM) :

amazing.

Blogger Mao said ... (11:37 PM) :

ok.. so heres the story..
guy on the left in from venezuela, from italian father, lived in milan for 8 yrs before moving to paris just a few months ago.
the guy on the right is italian. they both work in fashion. and they know each other from milan.
they ran into each other outside of the givenchy mens fashion show in paris, were they both live currently. they were chattin' b4 going to watch the show.
the skull neclace is from le bijoux de sophie, from paris. His espadrilles were bought in spain, for really cheap. he had the "G" embroidered to them, from his name, Giovanni.
He really does dress like this everyday.. and he doesnt think too much about it.
You should have seen his outfit for the givenchy couture show! it was out of control! sartorialist must have that shot somewhere !

ps.. the bracelets, he designs himself. he usually not wears them with that watch. but with 2 neon colors plastic watches he wears atogether.. and they look real cool..

paris is the one city where one can dress up to express oneself.. and people will appreciate it..
thats why we all live there !!!

cheers!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:44 PM) :

i think i just fell in love with the lovely man on the left
that skull necklace just sealed the deal

Blogger ricola said ... (12:37 AM) :

I want to know what their girlfriends are wearing.

Blogger Jessica said ... (1:10 AM) :

I love the outfit on the left! He looks so cool with the skull necklace!!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:14 AM) :

At first I doubted the skull necklace but somehow I changed my mind.

Blogger FreeOnBoard said ... (4:00 AM) :

The guy on the left really know how to use accessories...and the mix of styles created by the guys is great!!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:16 AM) :

Loving the look on both of these guys. Both so different, but they look fabulously delicious.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:22 AM) :

the guy to the left is absolutley gorgeous!!

and by the way, looking forward to see u in sthlm!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:36 AM) :

While I appreciate the sartorial flair of the gent on the left, methinks we men, in general, should steer clear of the oversized necklace as an acessory. Mens' fashion is simple and we all benefit from keeping it that way. Besides, there are TOO many ways for large necklaces to go TERRIBLY TERRIBLY worng. Great editorial look, but men, you have been warned.

Blogger Mrs Stevens said ... (11:36 AM) :

Thank you 'anonymous' 12.26 for the links to garancedore.fr with the pics of man on left. It has kind of ruined my little illusion though - that Sart just came across these two on some little side street. Garancdore's shot is in the exact same location, on the same day (Mauricio, thanks for the back story). So, these guys are hanging around and people are taking photos of them...? I prefer to imagine that it's all a little more spontaneous and unexpected, like the wonderful Andre Benjamin story last week. Oh, and Ricola, you don't acually believe these two have girlfriends to you? ;-)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:48 AM) :

This looks like a shot from film....I means really!...this shot appears like something you see in an art film ...people just being themselves and doing it perfectly.....GOOD ONE SAR!

THXSAR!

Ciao Regazzi!

Blogger Mode Boutique said ... (3:49 PM) :

wow, what a great look, both of these guys. love the anti-fit pants

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:04 PM) :

this photo is somehow so surrealistic, but at the same time so inspiring! at least to me. I love the climate, I'm just dying to get those gold bracelets, ah. I'd love to be a part if this situation.

Blogger MAJoR said ... (4:38 PM) :

I love this look!!! It could have come across fussy or chaotic on anyone else ... but its so him that its effortless.

Blogger marionpauline said ... (4:57 PM) :

the skull fellow looks like he's selling something. i think i'd buy whatever it is.

Blogger Style Salvage Steve said ... (5:23 PM) :

This is the best street style shot I've seen in months. Great work sart!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:43 PM) :

I really like the guy in blue, his whole outfit really fascinates me. Two thumbs up for his necklace and rarely we see guys walking around with big necklace on his neck like this guy - except guys with golden and army necklace which are so yesterday...!

-VD-

Blogger Stratos Bacalis said ... (9:29 AM) :

A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!!

it is photos like this that made me stick with your blog in the first place! Keep it up!

PS - soooo glad I got a panama hat this summer!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:50 AM) :

Take a look at the garance dore pics of the guy on the right, the close-up shows you just how perfect his double breasted blazer is, the fit on the shoulders is amazing, as is the wide collar and general slim fit of the body. Then to throw on a pair of baggy trousers-he's just taken it to another level. Simple, striking.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:53 AM) :

Love EVERYTHING about this photo...except the shoes-half-off thing--one of my pet peeves! Your blog is such a sight for my sore eyes...(sore from my daily intake of hipsters in tight jeans...)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:42 PM) :

The guy in the suit, the guy in the suit! Love the deep blue color, the insomniac's shadow under his eye, the sluchy look of what must be a good suit...sigh. Look at that helmet...this guy has style.

Suits are great when you are someone who does not do more than bathe and shave - and wants to look good.

This suit would be killer on a woman wearing a truly great feminine perfume...

Blogger Andy said ... (2:58 AM) :

So sexy!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:20 AM) :

compliments for the kitschy guy on the left are sarcastic right? he looks as if he's trying too hard, but i applaud his verve.

Blogger Joseph Rudi Pielichaty said ... (7:21 AM) :

The helmet almost looks like the most fashion forward of man bags. Mental notes, protective head gear is the way forward!

Blogger Chelsea Martin said ... (2:52 PM) :

guy on the right is channeling charlie chaplin. brave. nice too.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:01 PM) :

*faints*

I love how they have such different and beautiful individual styles, and they seem unaware that you're photographing them. The man on the left: theatrical yet casual, the fellow on the right: slightly undone, trousers rolled up and carrying his helmet - oh god, TAKE ME TO PARIS PLEASE.

Blogger FASHION CHALET said ... (5:42 PM) :

You definitely excel at what you do!!

You're an amazing photographer and at the same time manage to capture an elegance about each subject, as well as capturing them at ease.

I applaud your efforts! :) Bravo! :)

Blogger Rich said ... (2:32 PM) :

guy on the left: love the necklace and the bracelets!

Blogger Celia said ... (10:36 PM) :

That's a seriously sexy pair of men. One small thing (among many large things) about this photo that I love is the nude female mannequin hidden in the background.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:10 AM) :

tasty.

Blogger Unknown said ... (1:49 PM) :

Wow, I love how both of them have such a different style that smb would say they do not have anything in common. Well, they have, they both look damn good.
Where can I find blue pant fit like that? Any help?

Blogger Unknown said ... (10:41 PM) :

love the photo. both look great, stylish in a way that suits each of them. like the risk that hat boy took, though i could do without the gold bracelets. over-accesorizing just a tad.

i didn't see the figure in the window - It brings a whole additional (and kinda fun ) element into Scott's photo.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:54 AM) :

I love the body language - reminds me of a movie scene, only each of them is a sexy male lead from a different era.

Blogger matt williams said ... (3:57 PM) :

I love the outfits of both of these guys. I think both of them are stylish hispters but one has a prodessional job and the other works in a creative field.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:15 AM) :

I like the guy who's laid back against the wall. His shirt. his pants. the panama hat. and the loafers. (kind of reminds me of Ralph Lauren) very casual, but not at all boring!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:21 AM) :

Hello Aurele, tu as l'air d'être en pleine forme. Great to see you here, faisant le kakou chez le sarto...
See you.

Blogger Unknown said ... (6:53 PM) :

Makes me wanna cigarette REAL bad.

These two looks so foolishly cool that it kills me inside. I really hope the young man with the helmet is a writer and the one with the wickedly awesome necklace and bracelet is a musician. Something about that combination just sounds very fanciful and Romantic.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:42 PM) :

guy on the right has a beaaauuuuuutiful side profile.

Hello beautiful!

Blogger Eleazar Quest said ... (8:50 PM) :

Yes! These dapper gentlemen have a sense of style that defy Overly used terms like metro, hipster, etc, etc... They epitomize the essence of the individual, without emasculation.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:48 PM) :

is that bart vandebosch the les hommes designer in the dark suit on the right does anyone know? looks like him, the short hairs better than the long.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:12 AM) :

The guy on the left is wearing espadrilles which leaves me no choice but to say that Salvatore Ferragamo was the first person to have released this style, "summer of 2007." I guess it takes a man with style to get the ball rolling.

Blogger Manolo said ... (4:01 AM) :

Oh my ! The (gorgeous) man on the left totally reminds me of Jude Law in "The Talented Mr. Ripley", with that sort of cool, masculine, raw-yet-very civilized silhouette... I'm not so crazy about the beaded necklace, but the gold bracelets are a treat on such arms ! Well done...

Anonymous Katrina221 said ... (6:38 PM) :

Wow, the French have such carefree style. It is relaxed, but so chic. Sart, your photography is beautiful - perfect symmetry with their pose, style, the background. These men are so classic and sexy in a nonchalant way.
