Now that's the way to tie a scarf!

Blogger Stratos Bacalis said ... (7:36 AM) :

Love the contrast of the cardigan's volume and the skinny body - everything looks right. Very tough to duplicate if you're not skinny though!

Blogger Irene said ... (7:46 AM) :

I love librarty style on any man young or old who can pull it off. He does.

Blogger Unknown said ... (8:17 AM) :

I have a cardigan almost identical to that, but I'll be damned if it looks that good on me. I love the scarf. I like the color of the shoes, too, but I don't really know how I feel about the shape. Are they moccasins or just folded-down, suede boots?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:43 AM) :

It would have looked sloppy, if it were not for the scarf that says "this is all deliberate".

Blogger the sophisticat said ... (8:49 AM) :

Great hair.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:58 AM) :

That guy has some amazing hair.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:14 AM) :

Love the moccasins!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:19 AM) :

The very few times that an oversized cardigan looked absolutely wonderful...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:26 AM) :

Straight out of an APC catalogue

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:40 AM) :

he looks fantastic. big sweater over straight pant. love the moccasins and the scarf to finish it off. reminds me i need to get my moccasins out and wear those babies. got them years ago as house shoes on a reservation in arizona. glad they are in now. but, the trick is pulling them off like this guy has.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:11 AM) :

WOW - This guy totally nailed the look. Perfect length on the cardigan! Love the way the scarf is tied!

Blogger maggie_hogan said ... (10:12 AM) :

i love how the buttons or fastenings or whatever they may be are invisible on the shirt... and it seems that the cardigan was actually made for someone his size-- the sleeves fit!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:23 AM) :

Hello Scott, do you know anwhere in nyc where I could get my suits/jackets altered to fit? -thansk.

Blogger stacy said ... (10:29 AM) :

it's all about the hair baby!

Blogger John-Bryan Hopkins said ... (10:31 AM) :

I LOVE THE SCALE OF IT!

Blogger Unknown said ... (10:46 AM) :

nice hair!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:47 AM) :

The scarf, the cardigan, and oh that hair!

He looks like an interesting person.

Blogger TEXTSTYLES said ... (10:51 AM) :

it's the hair that does it
and the moccassins too

makes you want him in your circle of friends

Blogger Dan in Richmond said ... (10:53 AM) :

Smashing combinations- love the clothes, the hair and the photograph. Every item here is pretty crucial to the look but I particularly like the scarf- the effect of the scarf. Nicely done.

Blogger Olviya said ... (10:54 AM) :

very nice cardigan!
i would wear it too)

Blogger porter hovey said ... (11:02 AM) :

Yes. He's just too perfect. Love the scarf. Love the shoes.

Blogger Unknown said ... (11:14 AM) :

Are you going to run anything about Mr Blackwell?

Blogger Unknown said ... (11:15 AM) :

Love the shoes, don't think the cardigan is very flattering though.

Blogger Flo said ... (11:33 AM) :

love it - looks comfortable and he looks confident

Blogger Dominica said ... (11:48 AM) :

Love this oversized cardi - but only on him (tall, slim and a bit of Orlando Bloom, but blonder)
If my husband had such a cardigan, I would wear this in the evening, on the couch, warm comfy and with a little bit of sexiness underneath...:-p

Blogger Unknown said ... (11:49 AM) :

Great style! I love those shoes- any idea who makes them or where I can find similar?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:55 AM) :

Does anyone recognize the brand/make of the shoes?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:06 PM) :

Close, but no cigar. Love the shoes though.

Blogger Dallas Foster said ... (12:10 PM) :

I love the shoes, which appear to be some sort of mocs, and the hair, and the scarf. However, I think this look has two problems:

1) A Cardigan over a jacket?! I think this would be equally striking, if not more so, with something more appropriate such as a well fitted button down.

2) To truly play the cartoonish size of the cardigan off the skinny frame that everyone keeps mentioning, the pants should be slightly more fitted.

Blogger sadia said ... (12:14 PM) :

i love his hair!

Blogger mockumentary said ... (12:34 PM) :

V nice bomber and cardigan collar

Blogger The Spicers said ... (12:42 PM) :

GREAT look! I love the contrast in volumes and the jacket worn under the sweater.

Blogger beHEREnow said ... (12:46 PM) :

love the 'earthy' colours...

Blogger Hannah Stephenson said ... (12:56 PM) :

This shot is refreshingly non-fashiony. I love the cardigan!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:11 PM) :

The tortoise shape cardigan of the cardigan with beautiful buttons is lovely. I don't know how I feel about the shirt, but the scarf, shoes, and jeans are quite nice.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:25 PM) :

Christopher... he reminds me of you!

Blogger Landis said ... (1:30 PM) :

gold buttons.

gold highlights.

i think this guy was on an episode of queer eye . . .

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:37 PM) :

Somehow this look works overall, even though the individual pieces aren't amazing. It's interesthing how he's put the over-sized cardigan over what looks like a grey, light bomber jacket..

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:15 PM) :

Everything looks great, but the cardigan looks just a bit off.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:15 PM) :

Everything looks great, but the cardigan looks just a bit off.

Blogger Michael Joseph Owens said ... (2:20 PM) :

Excellent package all the way around! The scarf is the bomb! And the dude's hair adds great verticality.

Blogger fashionfatwa said ... (2:31 PM) :

Oh dear, I'm afraid the cardigan is haram. It hangs in just-been-washed, formless way. Without his structured hair and well-tied scarf, he would look sloppy. I must say, I do love the gold buttons though.

Blogger PunkiMeowMeow said ... (2:37 PM) :

Hip, comfortable and stylish. I love the scarf and his hair too.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:46 PM) :

LOVE it. Absolutely wonderful, He looks like he walked straight out of a fairytale.

Blogger Mona said ... (3:04 PM) :

i've been dying to buy myself a cardigan. and i'd want to get the same style grandfather-size as well. i love his hairdo as well!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:04 PM) :

I love the shoes, with the belt, and the golden buttons. They all go together so well

Blogger Nick Bograd said ... (3:20 PM) :

I like his mix of sweaters the shall collar cardigan gives him a really comfortable look.

Blogger the last noel said ... (3:46 PM) :

Are those shoes suede?

Blogger kristenlois said ... (3:48 PM) :

He looks like someone I would love to cozy up to. I would fit nicely in that sweater with him!

Blogger Bren said ... (3:51 PM) :

The gold buttons on the cardigan make all the difference.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:57 PM) :

Looks great. Anyone got any ideas where to get a similar grey top?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:05 PM) :

Defining the waist under the long cardigan keeps the proportion right. The French have an innate sense of style.

Blogger Adriancito said ... (4:10 PM) :

love the colors!!

Blogger Toad said ... (4:20 PM) :

Sart: we all know you dodn't care a lick about the sweater. It's the scarf isn't it?

Blogger Sina said ... (4:39 PM) :

That's the original "grandfather jacket", and it's the rigth way to wear it

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:48 PM) :

What makes this photograph pleasant is its sense of scale - on every level. ; )

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:42 AM) :

the boots are minnetonkas - super stylish and comfy. great scarf, great hair but the cardie has too much volume.

Blogger Brent said ... (10:28 AM) :

He is the designer for Paul Smith.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:20 PM) :

looooveee his hair! and he made this cardi look really good. this is a perfect example of a person wearing the cloth and not the cloth wearing the person.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:02 PM) :

I knew Dan in Richmond would like it!

Blogger fernandomachine said ... (11:25 PM) :

Blogger Dan in Richmond said ... (8:19 PM) :

To Maryelle82 2:55, this photo is perfect, and indicative of what Sart has been doing lately. Yes, there are wonderful compositions throughout the archives, but your work is changing, Scott. Inspired compositions and brilliant captured moments are coming with more and more frequency. I hope it's gratifying to you. We have the pleasure of watching an artist's work grow.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:05 PM) :

David Lynch started this hair style - THANK GOD! He's amazing.
