This is the type of boldness I wish to exude.

POW! look at my blue bag!

i did and i like.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:28 AM) :

THANK YOU!!!! How do I love Giovanna, let me count the ways:
1. hair parted and combed flat on forehead. Why does this look so stylish? I don't know, but it's been a major revelation to me.
2. the textures
3. the colors
4. here we have an object lesson on how over-the-knee boots can look cool, not slutty
5. and the list goes on, please help everybody

I know she was the muse for Dolce and Gabbana, but doesn't she look more Marni? anyway THANK YOU

Blogger Sentada Na Lua said ... (9:29 AM) :

Love it...

Blogger Krysta Marie said ... (9:34 AM) :

her coat is breathe taking - the blue clutch is so bright and cheerful.

Blogger stylethread said ... (9:34 AM) :

now this looks like something I would wear, right down to the electric blue bag. Only thing I'm missing is the chinchilla stole and long fingerless gloves... the black/white palette is an easy way to incorporate trendy, brightly hued accessories.

Gorgeous, as always.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:42 AM) :

Real fur is NEVER cool. Please tell me it is fake. And if you do not post this comment, I'll know where you stand on the issue.

Blogger shoe slut said ... (10:02 AM) :

the blue clutch just jumps at you!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:19 AM) :

Yes I have to agree I hope that is NOT real fur. Otherwise I like the outfit, very nice.

Blogger Lucile Meyer said ... (10:21 AM) :

BEST CLUTCH EVER ! LOVE IT ! x

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:26 AM) :

The gloves are excellent. I love the functionality of all these pieces. Very fashionable yet looks very comfortable. Brava! But no sunglasses?....

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:35 AM) :

Hot property at the moment, shes wearing a similar outfit on Garance's blog today!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:39 AM) :

Regarding the environment, FAKE fur is a nightmare.
I'm in love with Giovanna, with or without fur !

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:41 AM) :

Perfect as always. What's not to love? Those boots look great on her, the fur is georgeous.

I don't want this to turn into a politic discussion but Anon 9.42am: if you are going to leave comments like that at least have the guts to put your name. There are ways to wear fur, recycled and vintage fur means the animal didn't die in vain. Seeing the damage they wreak on other animals I happily wear fox and mink. I would not and do not however where endangered species.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:41 AM) :

I love this women!!! Whos who? It's real cool...and sky bag is very chic!!! I LOVE YOU...marco (italy)

BEAUTIFUL photograph: the blue sky and bag are perfect together

Blogger embrace said ... (11:13 AM) :

I loooove the overknee boots and I really hope it's not fake fur. That would just be cheap.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:24 AM) :

Love the mix of textures/pattern. The blue bag takes it to the next level!

Blogger stephanie-sarah said ... (11:31 AM) :

what a striking creature, im so glad i have a middle part again

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:34 AM) :

Perfect.

(I think fur from dead animals who died of natural causes is OK.)

Blogger stephanie-sarah said ... (11:37 AM) :

simple and well put together, loving the boots!

Blogger David said ... (12:05 PM) :

These boots are made for walking, and one of these days....

Blogger Deana said ... (12:15 PM) :

She's just wonderful.

Every time you post her photo I can't help but stare at each detail. She manages to look classically stylish yet modern (the fingerless gloves, the boots, the clutch) at the same time.

I think we've seen that sweater before and that is also inspirational – style doesn't mean "new."

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:31 PM) :

bahahaha to the person above! I guess that shows how everyone stands.

As for the outfit, most definitely gorgeous. It looks very French, which is always fashionable.

tres chic!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:44 PM) :

i miss living in europe, so looking at this site every day and getting the chance to visit, even if through pictures, has been great for me. i miss the style of europeans, compared to the fashion of americans...no matter how much fashion you wear, you still need style to pull it off...finally some picures taken in nyc that have a little style, and of course...who is the star...giovanna! i'm still smiling...

btw, you are brilliant...i'm in love with your site.

Blogger Shani said ... (12:44 PM) :

Every piece to this outfit is stunning, and together they make a perfect ensemble. Now, off to find a blue bag like that!

Blogger Deka said ... (12:44 PM) :

loving the oversized clutch!

Blogger Unknown said ... (12:45 PM) :

...WOW? gray never looked so good.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:46 PM) :

really nice Marni fur jk!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:51 PM) :

This is not Marni at all...sorry had to get that straight first.
Like it though.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:00 PM) :

does anyone know the label of the clutch?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:25 PM) :

I never tire of seeing what Giovanna will come up with... Her love of fashion is sooooooooo evident!

Blogger Fannah said ... (1:25 PM) :

eek! her purse just makes the entire outfit.

Blogger TEXTSTYLES said ... (1:47 PM) :

damn this woman. every time.
stunning!
che bella madonna

*bisous*

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:48 PM) :

Real fur is fine by me. Fake fur is made of the same stuff as plastic bags, which none of us get caught dead with now, right? Pun sorta intended.

Blogger Cate O'Malley said ... (1:56 PM) :

Love the boots.

Blogger Allen - East Hampton said ... (2:12 PM) :

She knows what she's doing! Brava!

Blogger KD said ... (2:14 PM) :

One of the comments says that she looks very French, but I think she looks very Italian. Nice mix of grey, black and blue. Bella donna!

Blogger . . . said ... (2:16 PM) :

Oh my God this is perfection.

Blogger Paige said ... (2:24 PM) :

Though she was carrying the sunday Times at first..

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:37 PM) :

This woman is infinitely inspirational. That fur gives me the confidence to deconstruct my own to make it modern. Those gloves are so ultra current and yet so practical. I've seen her photo-ed in this top before; works as well then as now. Her skirt/coulottes are cuter than sh*t. The blue bag is like putting a cherry atop the whole perfect package.

Blogger saintvenus said ... (2:43 PM) :

the checkers on the skirt correspond very well with the fur's 'stripes'

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:51 PM) :

Love it. Esp the fur. Lovely

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:09 PM) :

Giovanna, darling, you always get it so very , very right!! merci!! I though that cobalt blue could come off as so very eighties...but - Note to self: Buy cobalt blue large clutch stat!!

Blogger JP said ... (3:35 PM) :

This photo goes to the top of my Giovanna list. She's so fantastic!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:37 PM) :

She looks wonderful but what is the weather like there? I adore the cropped-sleeve coat look with long gloves, but I think I'd be too cold. I am in the south of France where it's in the 50s, but I'm wearing three sweaters and I put on a big coat and hat to go out. Is it so much warmer in NYC?

Blogger sisty said ... (3:39 PM) :

The bag DOES look like the Sunday NY Times -- or one of those plastic zippered cash pouches from a bank. ANd it's too big for a clutch. But the rest of the outfit -- and the woman herself -- are just great.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:50 PM) :

There is absolutely nothing wrong with that clutch.... actually there is nothing wrong with Giovanna at all.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:04 PM) :

Adore Giovanna's sense of self.

She's quite the talent, appearing on both yours & Garance's blog on the same day.

Blogger Brigadeiro said ... (4:10 PM) :

There is SO much to love about this photo, as there is about Giovanna: the clutch, the arm-warmers, the fur jacket, an amazing outfit that looks like she just threw on, perfection! xx

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:15 PM) :

No, no, no honey -- I didn't mean that she is wearing Marni. I meant that the "feel" of the overall ensemble is more Marni (the slightly quirky almost homemade sensibility, the girlishness, the unusual fur piece, the punch of a brightly colored, chunky accessory) than it is Dolce and Gabbana. At any rate it is very Italian.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:30 PM) :

where can i find that clutch???!!

Blogger miss_seph said ... (5:14 PM) :

I see this as affirmation of my favourite winter / spring look, short woollen skirt over tights with boots.

I. Love. That. Coat. I am so into that shorter sleeved outer wear, and the long fingerless gloves that complement everything AND warm the arm at the same time. This is one of my favourite attainable looks yet. Looking forward to a downunder winter to try this one out!

Blogger APT909 said ... (5:20 PM) :

I love this outfit! The color balance is especially awesome!!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:51 PM) :

She looks gorgeous. The severe center part works on her because her face is short from the hairline to chin. Long, narrow faces, don't try this at home. To the antifur crowd: okay, you made your point. You're boring us. Just remember, she has a CHOICE. I won't mention the other kind of choice.

Blogger erin nuts said ... (6:38 PM) :

I know one girl named Giovanna and I really don't like her. And she's not very stylish. So much thanks to this lovely Giovanna for redeeming the name for me.

Blogger Metro Profile said ... (6:41 PM) :

I love the way the blue bag looks with the various greys and textures of the rest of the outfit - lovely.

But I agree with Anonymous that real fur is really not cool. Obviously there are a variety of opinions on it, but it's a real (and important) issue in the fashion world now. Many designers are saying no to it and people shouldn't make fun of someone who takes a stance against it. (BTW, I doubt very much that the many chinchillas in her jacket died of natural causes).

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:45 PM) :

She's definitely a good looking woman and she has a sense of style....but why does she insist on parting her hair like that? It's too severe for her. She would look way better with hair parted on the side- softer and younger. She ages at least 6 years with that center part

Blogger drollgirl said ... (7:56 PM) :

a++++!

Blogger alegna said ... (8:04 PM) :

I love those boots. And her relaxed, confident style.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:19 PM) :

I must say that I am not a fan of the bag. I guess I wouldn't mind a splash of color in general, but that shade of blue just doesn't do it for me (just like some other people, I also thought that she was carrying the Sunday paper). The rest of the outfit I adore. Giovanna is, in my view, the best dressed and the most graceful of the celebrities that you show on your blog.

Blogger Jules said ... (9:59 PM) :

Hey,just look at those boots.
They are so gorgeoussss...=)
She's so nice..and i love the first 2 pictures too..
Nice post friend..=D

Blogger Stephanie Clayton said ... (10:53 PM) :

So incredibly sharp and bold, especially with that pop of cobalt blue, which completes the look--sheer perfection!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:19 PM) :

SPEECHLESS!!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:55 AM) :

Who is Giovanna?

Blogger farhad said ... (2:22 AM) :

I love the variety of different textures she has going on here.
the blue bag is unexpected. it's a bit trying too hard but I love the color and I respect her choice. somehow on a second look it sinks in. I understand what she's trying to do.
most importantly she is beautiful, confident and smiling. she actually looks very approachable and sweet in this pictures. and I love the parted hair, gloves, and amazing skin. all and all, I would marry her in a heart beat. LOL!!!

Blogger Unknown said ... (3:01 AM) :

Look at that eye-catching blue bag.
It's so fabulous..;)

Blogger Kelly Walker said ... (4:04 AM) :

deana- she also is wearing a skirt shown with a different outfit on garance, another amaaaazing example of re-using pieces innovatively. love her

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:09 AM) :

Very nice outfit, the boots are bold and stunning. And I please stop with this anti-fur bigotry! If you do not want to wear it, don't!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:53 AM) :

She knows what she's wonderful! simple and well put together!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:59 AM) :

absolutely perfect.. as always !

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:46 AM) :

Oup's I said ( before bug ) hair = perfect, like classic beautys thinck about carole bouquet, that kind of hair is perfect on mediteranean beautys ( with nice nose, only....)

Style doensn't mean new, that's RIGHT
May be easier whith long legs and slim silhouette...

Debattiti : False fur is it worst or not for environement ???

Grazie per questa bella foto !

Blogger Jack Daniel said ... (6:19 AM) :

She always looks nice. :)

Blogger RunwayRevolution said ... (7:05 AM) :

She loves her some fingerless gloves, huh? She wears the black and grey ones all the time. An impeccable example of her styling work.

Win, squared.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:09 AM) :

I keep seeing women in these box pleated tweed skirts, and I am dying for one of my own - but have had no luck tracking one down! where to find??

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:28 AM) :

She's great, always, even at 7.00am in the elevetor, she lives in my buiding in Milan!!

Blogger John B Pritchett said ... (10:06 AM) :

She's such an inspiration! Impeccable!

Blogger so said ... (12:33 PM) :

great style!
i particularly like the arm warmers with that sleeve length.

Blogger secondvurss said ... (12:43 PM) :

love the purse, the rest is good for her but i wouldn't sport it.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:25 PM) :

too bad about the fur..

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:48 PM) :

"too bad about the fur..." What does that mean? Is it okay if she eats meat, wears leather, and exercises her right to choose too?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:32 AM) :

i love her boots!anyone knows what they are?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:20 AM) :

The fur is real Chinchilla. I have one as a pet. It looks amazing on her and the Chinchilla. Would take about 50 of them to make that coat.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:38 PM) :

Wonderful. Just wonderful.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:25 PM) :

ugh giovanna is soo fucking chic and fabulous EVERY SINGLE TIME! this woman can never look wrong...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:56 AM) :

she's always amazng. Love the bright blue clutch

Blogger Liza B. Gonzalez said ... (8:10 AM) :

WOW! You think I could pass this off at the next PTA meeting?

Blogger 4life said ... (6:09 PM) :

This is one of the most amazing outfits I've ever seen. I love the coat and the boots.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:14 AM) :

the cassette-clutch is Corto Moltedo. love it!

Blogger Alexandra said ... (7:34 PM) :

Funny, there's a picture of the same woman in Bill Cunningham's latest On the Street! That clutch is just asking to be photographed.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:06 PM) :

The blue oversized clutch is from Corto Moltedo, bought one at their shop in palais royal.

Blogger Octavia Morris said ... (6:35 AM) :

hahaha

brilliant!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:59 AM) :

Oh once again she's astounding. So much gray but not at all drab. The fur is magnificent, and she shows that it is possible to wear over the knee boots with class. Giovanna does have a rare elegance about her though. As for the over-sized clutch...i want it!!!

Anonymous victoria karkoulas said ... (9:17 PM) :

love how monochromatic she is then POW! electric blue bag...i dont particularly like the clutch itself but i love how she is doing it! boots fur & hair are fab!

Blogger Mark Harris said ... (3:58 PM) :
