I would like to hug this Hudson street gentleman. I like his face. I also want his boots in my size.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:49 PM) :

Great, but I can't get used to the too-short vest look. The gent in yesterday's post (waiting for the Ralph show) had it, too.

Vests should be long enough to cover belt buckles, and trouser waistbands, unless you are a Hell's Angel's biker girl wearing a vest as a top. That is diff.

Blogger The Concrete Commentator said ... (5:51 PM) :

Nice.. Rugged, but nicely put together. I've always loved the warm colours. Love his vest, fits him nicely. Great backdrop too Scott!

Blogger ryder said ... (5:55 PM) :

the outfit is unique-a very modern twist with pants tucked in boots. but what i am really loving is the entire photograph-excellent color tones & composition!

Blogger mimoleskineyyo said ... (6:00 PM) :

I love his boots!!!!!! Anybody know who designed them???

Blogger Josh said ... (6:05 PM) :

Is that Josh Peskowitz from Men.style.com? It looks like him...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:06 PM) :

He's perfect against that brick building. It is as if his outfit were inspired by it!
Love colours and the textures!

Blogger drollgirl said ... (6:14 PM) :

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:17 PM) :

I love his combat books. The whole look is well put together. The coat fits him well and the cardigan is very flattering.

Not diggin' the man-tote, but at least it goes nicely with his outfit.

Blogger Stephanie Clayton said ... (6:41 PM) :

Vest and pants seem a bit tight. Otherwise, great colors and textures in his attire and background. Excellent photo.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:43 PM) :

Handsome devil. Love the choice of bag. He looks one half Elizabethan and the other half West village!

Blogger DesignSender said ... (6:45 PM) :

wouw, he looks like a great acter!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:45 PM) :

wonderful boots! I want them too!

and they match the leather finishing of the bag!
a mention also to the well cut coat... on the whole, good basic elements and good combination! ;)

Blogger Filipe said ... (7:00 PM) :

Makes sense, the fit seems perfect AND he looks friendly and approachable. Tight fit and bearded make him look masculine and not like "another fashion victim". He looks imaginative yet practical. Must have boots!

Blogger Unknown said ... (7:12 PM) :

Wow he looks amazing. Why can't people in Montreal dress as nice and different!?!

xoxo

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:15 PM) :

I almost bought a pair of boots just like those the other day.

The vest is great and the gloves are a gcool touch.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:28 PM) :

the boots look similar to some tods high shine boots that were in gq australia recently

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:39 PM) :

funny I just saw this guy, nice bag!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:43 PM) :

Without the tag on the building, this could have been taken ages ago. Awesome work boots, and I bet there's no zipper on the side.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:21 PM) :

my first reaction: Robert DeNiro!!!

Blogger yankeegrl506 said ... (9:40 PM) :

He looks Scottish and a tad bit like Hugh Jackman. I love his outfit, so unique!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:55 PM) :

Great shot! Your photos are so fashionista inspiring. Wonder what's in his bag?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:24 PM) :

he's Mr. Brian Parish. He is works for RRL

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:28 PM) :

Aw damn he is sexy! Love his look! Especially those boots.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:34 PM) :

I'm a girl & I want to wear what this guy is wearing from head to toe.

-vd-

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:36 PM) :

Great look, the vest fits the way a "waist coat" is supposed to. Nice over coat. Chippawa makes a boot like that with the kilt front. Great Shot/Scott!

Glad Man

Blogger Joy Mars said ... (10:38 PM) :

Did you position him in front of the red bricks to diffuse the red hat? And the rest of the background totally works with the clothes. The entire picture is a kind of masterpiece. He's very interesting.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:56 PM) :

Adore the boots and bag. Vest is too short and too tight. The cap makes this ensemble perfect!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:25 AM) :

it's lovely Mr Ryan Barash. Ralph Lauren. Gorgeous man and effortlessly stylish always.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:34 AM) :

10:34...me too. Especially love the contrast between the sharp ankle and toe of the boots and the (slightly) slouchier trousers.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:37 AM) :

Great logger boots. Anyone know who makes them? Red Wing, Wesco, danner?

Blogger Jogi A Jordan said ... (12:39 AM) :

Blogger Patagonia Community said ... (12:41 AM) :

Tobey Macguire with an edge. Love the vest.

boots are nuts

Blogger thought Bubbles said ... (1:06 AM) :

DOPE-SKYs

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:13 AM) :

he's got an eye for coordination and takes a fashion risk. I just don't know how i feel about pants in boots for men who aren't part of the military or emergency services. otherwise, he does have a nice solid look to him.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:13 AM) :

kudos to you for finding this gorgeous man. men should carry bags. it just makes sense.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:29 AM) :

someone out there has got to know where to get boots like this. i've been looking around for months!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:56 AM) :

outfit works really well because of the proportions and tailored fit... you need tighter first layers when doing a vest and coat over them... especially when the vest is tight and a bit short, which is absolutely the only way to wear vests if you want to lengthen your legs and shorten the torso... the colour palette is masculine but interesting... it's the smile from the eyes and the comfort in the way he carries the whole look that makes this shot absolutely delightful...

such a pleasure visiting your blog Mr Schuman!!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:00 AM) :

Loooooove the bag and the colours combo. Not crazy about the cap, though it gives a touch of different colour. Love the brick wall in tha background. Well done Sart.

Keep up the good work.

Blogger Unknown said ... (3:45 AM) :

With his cheeky smile he can dress everything in half-serious way, that's what i finally like much!

Blogger Pieter Olivier said ... (4:24 AM) :

yeah, very nice, nice boots for sure, so brown is in...winter is only coming to Cape Town in May, so I've got time to go shopping

Blogger Skriba said ... (4:52 AM) :

This boots are dangerous!! Soo tight knited probably cut the blood stream.

I bet he has lost the wiggling toes ability. for good.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:52 AM) :

Oh. This man has me blushing. And I am staring a bit too much ... mighty nice all round.

Blogger Diana said ... (6:22 AM) :

Looking at this gentleman (at your pics I still cannot be lost enough in the fashionable details, because for me, style is rather personality), I think he is the perfect "husband material". Simply lovely.
For him, I would even iron and cook...
As I see the other comments, unfortunately i am not alone with this opinion...

Blogger Unknown said ... (8:05 AM) :

Seems like a nice guy, not trying too hard but able to look well-put together. I think the bag is perfect for his look. Tough and rugged. I think I saw that bag at RRL.

Blogger Laurence John said ... (8:50 AM) :

like the knitted waistcoat.

Blogger American Otaku (E is my SL) said ... (9:08 AM) :

must.. have .. boots!
everything works for me in this one! even the "beanie" which i normally do not like!

Blogger buyathread said ... (10:03 AM) :

The photo and the man are both so beautifully composed. The clothes are great, but I especially love the way all the warm colors are put together.

Blogger John B Pritchett said ... (10:34 AM) :

This is an absolutely perfect look. His expression shows that he doesn't take himself too seriously-very admirable. The fact that everything is fitted is great!

Blogger stylethread said ... (10:40 AM) :

this looks borderline steampunk. I like it.

Blogger the sophisticat said ... (11:03 AM) :

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:11 AM) :

My immediate reaction to this photograph is 'I want to make out with this man.'

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:12 AM) :

amazing shoes and bag! overall amazing eye to detail. Just great!

Blogger crowsfeet said ... (11:23 AM) :

Boots to Beanie wonderful!!! So many reasons to love...

Who ever said matching your shoes and bag is just for women???

It looks as though that crooked rascal smile by sheer force of charm has lifted his coat front, elbow and collar just a bit higher on that side. And if the beanie were any shade of camel, brown, caramel, sand, beige, tan or god forbid cafe au lait, it just wouldn't be as good.

There is exactly one reason in this neck of the woods a man could tuck his pant legs into his boots and not get his ass kicked: rattlesnakes. And that is exactly the reason this blog has made its way into my heart and my morning alongside my cup of coffee - all of the places and people I can see in the comfort of my pajamas and slippers - what luxury you afford me, Scott.

Kudos

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:31 AM) :

I love how dapper is making a triumphant comeback. This gent looks amazing.

Blogger Unknown said ... (11:38 AM) :

very lovely, a modern stylization of a moment past. love it.

Blogger littlepinkpebble said ... (11:55 AM) :

wow~!!

Blogger The Voracious Vegan said ... (12:23 PM) :

Hot damn! I love this. What a handsome man. I was scrolling down the picture thinking 'good, good, good....' then I got to the boots and I nearly fell out of my chair. Just perfection!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:07 PM) :

For those of you who asked, these appear to be a type of nouveau, laceup cowboy boots that were all the rage with the redneck/rodeo set back in the 90s. Some refer to them as "lace ropers" although this gentleman's heels are a bit taller than "roper" heels. The older versions of manufactuers such as Justin Boots would have fit this style, although their newer versions are nowhere near as cool as these.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:18 PM) :

These are called "packer" boots and are made by companies like Chippewa and Loredo. Similar in style to a lace cowboy boot.

Blogger Daisy said ... (1:39 PM) :

Beautiful. The color coordination, the charm, the style, it all works so well! I wanna meet this guy and get a closer look :D

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:42 PM) :

LOVE the outfit, HATE the man-purse. The boots and pants, and really the whole combination, is so masculine and appealing. And then you throw in a girly tote bag, and it ruins the whole effect.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:43 PM) :

So Handsome! Ry- The outfit is great! you look amazing as always.
I LOVE your boots!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:15 PM) :

I want it all!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:54 PM) :

Yes, he works for RL but not the apparel division, rather Ralph Lauren Home. Ryan you rock!!!

Blogger Ania Wawrzkowicz said ... (4:04 PM) :

I love it !

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:15 PM) :

I need his boots in my life.

Blogger About Me said ... (4:20 PM) :

the outfit and color palette create a visual softener.

Blogger JayDC said ... (4:36 PM) :

awesome boots and pants.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:43 PM) :

This is why I visit your site every day, Sart. You show us people in outfits that can provide inspiration for our personal styles. This makes me want to try the olive-to-camel color palette with a single pop of color and the shrunken vest (as vests are good for waist definition and the shorter cut might give the illusion of longer legs). I really like the boots, but as other have pointed out, the tucked-in look won't play for those of us who don't work in fashion or a similar artistic industry (although I wish I could). I also like the contrast of the casual, slouchy bag with the more tailored outfit. Great outfit and, as always, a great photo. Thanks!

Blogger Jack Daniel said ... (5:58 PM) :

This is a nice combo!

Blogger ethandesu said ... (6:24 PM) :

I'd put money on the boots being White's Packers. White's are the boots to have in Japan (RRL heaven), where brands like United Arrows have taken their traditional Semi Dress boot and made it different and fresh.

desu.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:21 PM) :

Can we have some interpretations of the RL look on women now, please? There are plenty of Polo girls running around the city, too...

Blogger andrea.at.the.blue.door said ... (10:23 PM) :

Adding my vote for "Headed for Steampunk" and "Those must be White's boots."

Nobody has commented yet on the nicely matched mitts.

I desperately want to knit that waistcoat.

But the cap just makes it for me; this man has no fear!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:11 PM) :

Oh snap! That look is tight man!
How he gets the shades of green together! Totally before the trend!

Blogger brlfvr said ... (11:18 PM) :

Not a fan of the fit of the pants with this ensemble.

I like the short vest framing the belt buckle. It's wickedly delicious.

Blogger Carl Hult said ... (4:42 AM) :

this is why I check your blog out every day. Inspiring look but the tucked in oants and the man bag feels over accessorized.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:10 PM) :

He obviously knows what he's doing. A perfect pic Sart!

Blogger CW said ... (10:29 AM) :

Everything works except the rolled up trousers. There's a line between stylish and pretentious and the rolled-up trousers cross that line.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:49 AM) :

Wow. So well put together and yet very very interesting. I love how he fits so many textures and colours together.

Doesn't he look like a very refined version of Rob Schneider? Haha

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:12 PM) :

His looks says many things and one thing, all at the same time. Individual, experienced, tough, stylish, evoking emotion and renaissance. Powerfu. Genius.Love this blog for pics like this, Sart. This dude is cool and he works for a cool company, too. Lauren loves and fosters his mavericks. They come with fresh ideas, he must be constantly surrounded by inspiration. Tough and beguiling, this man. Great shot!
