Is it the vantage point? Is it the lighting? She certainly has all the possibilities, for sure.

Blogger diane said ... (8:45 AM) :

This girl could be the reason why a lot of young men never miss class.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:47 AM) :

So not fair that a high school student can have such style. What happened to the days of deliciously bad teenage fashion? Just me?

Blogger María Agostina Saracco. said ... (8:48 AM) :

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:01 AM) :

this looks ideal for a breezy day. it'd def be my uniform.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:03 AM) :

Nice, soft look. The length of the dress and the shoes are youthful. The simplicity of her hair and makeup exude a confident maturity.
Refreshing to look at.

I hope that my daughter will embrace this type of tastefulness.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:05 AM) :

Wow-HS student?-i sure didn't look like that in HS-she looks like she could be someone's wife

that's a little too grown

Blogger Amra said ... (9:28 AM) :

Really pretty shoes she's got there!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:32 AM) :

Oh, what a great set up for this picture! The first thing I noticed was her pearl lariat, an old-fashioned accessory in this modern mix. I bet she is cool in that dress and Florence can be boiling in the summer but she better watch that open bag; pickpockets are rampant there. That's not a slap, it's the truth.

Blogger Katy said ... (9:33 AM) :

Absolutely gorgeous! I really, really want to touch her dress, it looks so soft and the front pleats look perfect. I love the pearls as well! Simplicity at its best.

Blogger li ann said ... (9:37 AM) :

reminds me of blair from from gossip girl! its a simple outfit but she looks great here and her shoes are so awesome

Blogger Mr Brown said ... (10:33 AM) :

On the whole I'm not convinced by sombre tones in the summer, but dove grey would be an exception.

Lovely.

Blogger Orkun said ... (10:36 AM) :

She seems like she is having the time of her life and great shoes at the same time.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:37 AM) :

the shoes are good

Blogger V said ... (2:22 PM) :

Being stylish...

Stylish - having elegance or taste or refinement in manners or dress; "a little less posh but every bit as stylish as Lord Peter Wimsey"; "the stylish resort of Gstadd"

Styleless, unstylish - lacking in style or elegance; "a styleless way of dressing"; "expensive but styleless country tweeds"; "wearing unstylish clothes".

Maybe, I just like her dress and she is a pretty girl in Florence, Italy after all.

She would be still be pretty in an old pair of jeans and a tee-shirt.

Because she has style.

Me being in high school and having to see all the girls wear the same Hollister brand stuff is annoying when I really think of it. So to see this picture...it brightens my day up!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:02 PM) :

This is a gorgeous shot and the girl looks fabulous. It's relaxed, she's relaxed, which creates the same feeling in the viewer. A wonderful antidote to the uptight looks of the governor's island shots (not a criticism of the photos themselves, which are lovely, just on the looks. Glad they've gone for another year. (I can see it's a fun weekend for the participants - something beautifully communicated by the images - but I find the looks really appalling, esp. the two-tone shoes!)

Only in Florence would you find a high schooler this chic. Effortless and gorgeous, and so Italian..love her.

Anonymous Catherine like Deneuve said ... (5:13 AM) :

So many young girls think that they will look older if they dress like Britney Spears or Lindsey Lohan, i.e., trashy/slutty. This girl shows that she can dress simply, comfortably and with class, making her look much older and more sophisticated without looking like a tramp. Bravo to her.
The only thing is that she is setting herself up for foot problems later in life if she wears shoes like that too often. It is not very fashionable to limp because of a bunion.

Blogger Maliha said ... (5:38 AM) :

Not a huge fan of the dress, but that can be fixed with a belt. I love the shoes and the bag.

Lovely 'transitional' look: not too young, not too old, just right for her age and stage, I'd say. Look, we're talking Italy here...

Beautiful coloring: the taupe, the shell, the brown. Sophisticated, without being too precious. I adore the shirtdress, the knotted necklace the largish bag.

Anonymous zuccotto said ... (11:15 PM) :

Lovely young women in a dress that I wish I owned. Like her style, accessories, hair, and even the shoes (I'm no big fan of high heels, much less in Firenze, but I'll give in on this one.) Past all that, fabulous photo in elegant light - or elegant photo in fabulous light.

There is something fantastic about those shoes, not to mention the gorgeous background...but really, is all the bashing of high schoolers in general necessary, commenters? We are not all idiots who idolise Lindsay Lohan and would like to audition for a 'Girls Gone Wild' video, even if this is the way teens are depicted by the media.

The Shoes are from Sergio Rossi, not Target! Have exactly the same pair, and can guarantee they're the most comfortable ever...
Target made a ripoff, but the store doesn't exist in Italy

In the best way possible I happen to think this girl is very high school! She looks like those kinds of girls who would cheat off me in AP Psych hahahah. Styles are changing, and this outfit should be no surprise to anyone 18 and under. She seems confident nonetheless!

Those shoes are amazing! Love the whole look!

I love everything about this, for myself. For the younger age, I would prefer flats with this.

this picture inspired me. She looks so great. And her shoes, oh god love it !

Blogger kitten_77 said ... (10:49 AM) :

shoes are definitely Zara, i have them!

i am a little surprised by all the comments about "amazing style".. I think she looks great and oozes confidence but this is a very European look, i wore something similar in Dublin yesterday .. it would not be considered high fashion here.
(not to take away from the fact that this girl looks great though)

Wow, she has great style for a high school student. I don't remember ever dressing that well...
Great photography also. I like the play of light and shadow on the girl.
Very nice all up.

Reminds of my days up at New England boarding school. This has such a prep edge to it. I would be surprised to see a look like this in J. Crew.

i liked so much!! it's so natural...

The Dress is from ZARA but the shoes although they look like a pair they have in blue and pink are NOT from ZARA. I think the most interesting thing about ZARA clothes is that a lot of the pieces you have to see them on to really appreciate them. If you have the vision for yourself than you will never leave the store empty handed and unhappy.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:21 AM) :

my shoes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i have those shoes too!! i bought them in italy!!! woooow...and my mum didn't wanna to buy me the shoes...now...she will have to admit her almost mistake!! ^_^

Anonymous Carly said ... (1:37 AM) :

Have the shoes, but they're BCBG.
The straps are all elastic so they're really comfortable especially because i have narrow feet.

Nobody seemed to notice the little touches like the rolled sleeve and the watch. Really pulled the look together and showed her personality.

she looks like blair from gossip girl. i love her dress, her shoes- actually i love her whole outfit!
