I love that she is wearing so much color! The purple dress is to die for, and her green skirt and button down has such a preppy feel to it and at the same time the gold sandals and necklace just make it more sophisticated.

very eye catching and beautiful--I'd rather not use the word fierce, but she is that and more.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:43 AM) :

She has a lovely smile, nice legs, beautiful hair. Love her dress - curious as to what kind of shoes she was wearing with it. The second outfit is colorful... but boring.

Blogger addictedtoysl said ... (11:44 AM) :

I also find her low heels very refreshing.

Anonymous all-in-the-silhouette said ... (1:53 PM) :

Italian women exude a particular earthy-chic-humor that is so appealing. She's approachable...very unlike some of our American fashion editors (ahem).

Fantastic plum dress, BTW.

Anonymous The Photodiarist said ... (3:59 PM) :

Simply breathtaking. These photos, and those of Garance Dore yesterday, are going to inspire my fall wardrobe. Not so much black and tons of jewel tones. Beautiful. Particularly the purple dress!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:15 PM) :

Fabulous in every age...Just beautiful

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:27 PM) :

That purple dress slays me - beautiful!!!

Just goes to show you that if you've got style it really doesn't matter what age you are.

Blogger Style on paper said ... (4:47 PM) :

MITICA franca! Love her style..

Blogger Honeygo Beasley said ... (5:33 PM) :

Essential Italian fall style, down to the slim gold sandals. Mama Mia! That's for me ...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:58 PM) :

Now THAT is how to age beautifully.

Blogger Forest City Fashionista said ... (7:32 PM) :

I think the second outfit ages her, whereas the purple dress makes her look incredibly vibrant and sexy.

Anonymous Mrs Tiab said ... (8:03 PM) :

Blogger Helen said ... (8:46 AM) :

I adore that first dress especially

Blogger Tim McFarlane said ... (10:14 AM) :

LOVE the color and look of the dress! Beautiful!

Anonymous Diana said ... (10:44 AM) :

The colors of her clothes & her style would be really perfect if she'll be proud to wear her wonderful hair grey :-)

Anonymous Charlotte K said ... (10:55 AM) :

I've never thought her hair was flattering but her clothes and style are perfection--as is her smile, so refreshing!

Blogger Teresa @ good-grace said ... (10:57 AM) :

oh my goodness! She's gorgeous! And I love her bold choice in colors! (that dress is divine...) Lovely, lovely lady, indeed.

Blogger green lantern said ... (12:57 PM) :

There is something about her masculine undertones that make her able to pull this dress off. The dress itself is not the eye-catching detail. The color is fetching but, the virility of her arms, versus the softness of the hair supported by the sturdiness of her legs is HOT!!!!

Anonymous Geek Porn Girl said ... (2:57 PM) :

I love the top dress. She looks like a mermaid!

Blogger gabrielazeanadal@hotmail.com said ... (4:08 AM) :

She is great, so inspiring!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:34 AM) :

Great to see her finally wear color - after so many years of black!
The Marni purple dress is hot!

Time for a a hair cut too!

Anonymous Madyson said ... (7:03 AM) :

Both looks are truly awesome. I LOVE that first dress. I want to see that dress in my closet.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:17 AM) :

I love the dress, of course. The second outfit is unexpected with the green skit as a "neutral" staple piece - one would normally wear brown, black or tan... but green!? I'm seeing a lot of that green in Europe lately- jackets especially. And purple, too...

Anonymous Elegant Distinction said ... (7:28 AM) :

I feel like taking all the dull clothes out of my wardrobe- superbly inspiring colour!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:44 PM) :

love the fushcia dress...I'm a sucker for a nice geometric print :)

Blogger bird of light said ... (9:25 AM) :

I wish women of a certain age here (in Australia) exuded such happiness and radiance.
I'm thinking many women turn bland and conservative to fit in, but then they wonder why they disappear from been seen as beautiful?!.. Wonderful body and dresses with comfort, femininity, and class. The 'Queen' indeed!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:57 PM) :

never doubted Franca's taste and style, elegant, chic and yet she manages to make it look casual. she's great, and she sure didn't miss this time. excellent choice of bold color the first!

Blogger Unknown said ... (8:55 PM) :

That purple dress is killer! The green dress and baby blue top is genius.

Anonymous Sofia said ... (6:37 PM) :

HAHA she looks like Dee Snider

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:26 PM) :

This woman is divine. So older women can still be sexy!!!
