Oh man, oh boy, oh man, oh boy... how do I express my innermost feelings about his blazer in a language void of alliterations or poetic rhyme... I would mug him for the blaz... no, it's been done. OMG OMG OM... no that's also been done. I fuc... nah, too crude.

OK, got it: The blazer. Gimme.

Wow -- the best thing about this guy is his HEAD. And he's set it off to perfection with his study in blues. Really, I can't get over the way his eyes and brows curve down at the sides... Why does that immediately read as worldliness, and a sense of humor? And that hairline! You go, boy. (But maybe wear your trousers a little longer.)

Blogger The Clever Pup said ... (8:47 AM) :

Methinks that a his jacket requires a brisk ironining.

That would suit him better.

Blogger Unknown said ... (8:48 AM) :

Whouaw what a beautiful man !

Anonymous yasmineS said ... (8:48 AM) :

Blue is making a great comeback… agree? nice!

He does all blue so well. He also looks like he should have been in some old movie with Marilyn Monroe. You find some pretty interesting people to photograph!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:57 AM) :

He's terribly handsome. I suspect that he would get a nod regardless of what he was wearing. I almost wish the photo were in black and white. I think the look would be quite wonderful.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:04 AM) :

He reminds me of a young Clark Gable - I love it!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:07 AM) :

Yep, facial hair is back!!

This guy really pulls the whole thing off, I think he looks great.

I'm really liking the facial hair and his hair style is right on the money. Very retro.

Blogger amyw said ... (9:09 AM) :

Amazing. I love the different shades of blue.

Blogger WILDFLOWER said ... (9:10 AM) :

For the way you continue to capture classic style and beauty, I have to say I truly thank you!
You make eyes see what they may not have ever really noticed.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:13 AM) :

It's Patrick Grant, owner of Norton & Sons and E. Tautz. What a well tailred look!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:14 AM) :

He was a hero in that BBC Tweed series!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:16 AM) :

It's Patrick Grant, owner of Norton & Sons and E. Tautz. What a well tailored look!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:17 AM) :

I love it. Very debonair. It suits him well. He reminds me of the actor Cary Grant and interesting how both these men are from England.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:21 AM) :

He should kick the pocket square and the tote in this but otherwise he looks sharp. Guy totally reminds me of George Clooney.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:29 AM) :

Blue is like grey and black you can always wear it head to toe and not look silly and it helps if your handsome as this gent.

Blogger Dave said ... (9:32 AM) :

Seems like the rest of the world is catching onto rolling up the pants but I am not sure Washington D.C. is quite there yet!!

Blogger Mcmaris said ... (9:35 AM) :

Love the blue. Looks like such a refined gentleman!

This picture is just perfect! Not to mention the amazing detail of his blazer..the pattern is most wonderful. The cuff on the pant is also great for the whole look. He seems like a very charming man.

Blogger ingefaer said ... (10:00 AM) :

except for the pocketsquare which is a bit much, he looks really great - and comfortable unlike the "perfect RL NYC" of the other day.
Always loved blue; so glad to see it coming back in full force.

Anonymous Claire said ... (10:01 AM) :

Looks like a very crumpled George Clooney - and that is nothing but a good thing.

Anonymous Fred said ... (10:04 AM) :

You don't have to be a slave to a supposed fashion.
Resist the urge,,, don't roll up your trouser!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:06 AM) :

He is gorgeous, whoa. Is he a "fashion person"? I'm hoping not...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:21 AM) :

Look - He's wearing socks!!!

Blogger Terryl said ... (10:26 AM) :

I think I am in love.

No, wait...

I am.

Anonymous Clements&Church said ... (10:31 AM) :

Patrick Grant from Savile Row tailor's Norton & Sons I presume? Wheres his bike??

Anyway, that jacket's great. I love the plain back and the linen mix fabric giving a really nice casual and formal look at the same time!

I'm going to order some cloth!

Anonymous olafgermany said ... (10:47 AM) :

unbelievable sexy & attractive...very nice look by the way

Anonymous alser said ... (11:01 AM) :

Very fun what'else

Anonymous Sinta said ... (11:02 AM) :

I usually hate short trousers on guys (socks?!?! eeeew), but he just pulls everything off so well. What a handsome face as well :D

Blogger Chevere said ... (11:07 AM) :

I like the shirt, tie, pocket square, and socks.

The blazer and the pants I am not so sure about.

You can't have nice neat hair and a pressed shirt and then throw a wrinkled blazer and pants. Mess up the hair and untuck the shirt and open the blazer and maybe you have something. If not press your blazer and pants.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:22 AM) :

Oooooooo, I do like this very much.

He's got a nice monochromatic thing going and blue is his color.

I do agree with the whole cuffed pants thing. Sometimes it works (on the beach) and sometimes it doesn't (everywhere else). Visually, it shortens a man's legs and I do believe that a tall man has always been in vogue. But some guys can pull it off.

Anonymous davidsl said ... (11:25 AM) :

terrifically handsome man. the brits do "rumpled" so very well. just wish he hadn't rolled his trouser cuffs.

Blogger Unknown said ... (11:26 AM) :

Very good indeed as should be expected from a Savile Row tailor and haberdasher. Nice that he is wearing his rolled up pants with socks.

For those of us who ride bikes and live in cities it is not purely an affectation of style. It is very practical.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:31 AM) :

Handsome and unique looking guy, but not digging the threads. And he's in the biz no less???

Blogger Malu Keizer-Swartjes said ... (11:32 AM) :

he looks great:D

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:33 AM) :

I'd like to iron him, steal those shoes and socks for a nice clothing bank somewhere, and slap on a pair of Sperry's instead, but other than that - he's lookin quite suave.

The well placed part doesn't hurt a bit ;)

Blogger Soren Lorensen said ... (11:54 AM) :

what an odd fgacial expression

indecipherable

Blogger Well Done Blog said ... (12:09 PM) :

handsome guy, blue is beautiful, ill- fitting jacket.

Blogger SutroBleu said ... (12:26 PM) :

OMG he looks good. He looks like he walked out of a film.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:41 PM) :

It looks like Patrick Grant - but given his sartorial background wouln't expect him to be dressed in this garb

Blogger Pearl Westwood said ... (12:46 PM) :

Really great use of blue! It is an under-rated colour.
http://fashionpearlsofwisdom.blogspot.com/

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:52 PM) :

He is really good looking. Love the blue combination. But why the socks and the bag?

Blogger indigo warrior said ... (1:03 PM) :

There's something very William Powell about him. That's almost the best compliment I could give a man. (the best being a comparison to my dad)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:18 PM) :

facial hair has been back for the better part of this decade and when did blue go away?

this gentleman looks like a very casual, young cary grant. wow.

Blogger The Chukker said ... (1:42 PM) :

It is always a matter of balance. The shirt and tie are pretty conservative. The blazer is not.
The pocket square, a la sans-façon.
Shoes and pants are conservative, but the pants are rolled-up.
The vedict? Cool beyond description. Conservative enough for an office, but with a creative side that makes this gentleman here A WINNER in the style Grand Prix. Plus, he looks like a nice chap.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:42 PM) :

wait, what? He is absolutely killing it!

And no, he should not iron the jack, lengthen the pants or remove the pocket square- whatsdamatter with you people? He's doing it properly, respect due.
go ahead brother, represent.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:55 PM) :

He's got that debonair dashing English gent thing going on. Love his facial expression, possibly the sexiest thing about him. I bet he drinks absinthe...or port. Would love to know what he's thinking!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:57 PM) :

whats with the rolled up pants? Just a bit too phoney...unless his basement is flooded.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:22 PM) :

That is indeed Patrick from Savile Row's Norton & Sons.

Anonymous Pietman said ... (2:39 PM) :

I am so tired of overly cuffed trousers. To me it equals too much thought put into dressing. He sure is handsome but I think he already knows that.

Anonymous Kiran said ... (2:41 PM) :

2-double buttons for man? Looks awkward! The blazer needs some serious steam-press :)

Blogger Unknown said ... (3:43 PM) :

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:29 PM) :

I'm so glad he's wearing socks.

Anonymous Sophia Larkin said ... (5:25 PM) :

slick dandy and scruffy dapper

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:03 PM) :

Oh, Patrick...he looks good and he knows it. Nothing wrong with that!

Anonymous Em said ... (7:19 PM) :

Loving the blues! I used to live in the left basement flat...

Blogger Instantd said ... (7:35 PM) :

This look reminds me of Sean Connery's 007.

Blogger Joshua Logan said ... (11:51 PM) :

I dig the look, the man is handsome. But the outline/cut of the figure is off. These pants should not be rolled, only tight pants should be rolled otherwise they end up looking like skater pants from 1995.

Blogger C A said ... (12:09 AM) :

Blogger Siru said ... (5:03 AM) :

He looks like such a gent!

Blogger VintageCollector said ... (7:38 AM) :

I agree. Very Connery-esque.

Let's see more of him M.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:24 AM) :

Guys and gals, the blazer with the patch pockets has to have a little crumple 'cause that's the look for a linen-blend garment. To submit it to an iron would be sinful. And further to the crime, whoever said the pocket square needs to go... No, I will not stand for such blasphemy! It needs to be pronounced and in yer face. Regardless of there being about a dozen ways of folding it.

Pietro

Blogger Unknown said ... (8:28 AM) :

I think the short trousers make him look like Norman Wisdom

Blogger Athene Greig said ... (9:17 AM) :

Patrick Grant - my biggest crush ever for so many reasons!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:30 AM) :

marry me?

Blogger Longdream said ... (9:39 AM) :

Rhett Butler would just love his style.

Blogger Stephen Connor said ... (10:28 AM) :

Patrick Grant is the coolest man on Savile row . He is by far the smartest man in London, so if even he gets a grilling on the Sartorialist then ther is hope for all of us London types ........ Yes !!!! : - D

Anonymous Specialward said ... (10:58 AM) :

He outshines his clothes, but I still like the threads on him. How many really can make a db and tie combo look so casual and unaffected. If someone with lesser style wore this, it'd look terrible and contrived.

Blogger gabrielazeanadal@hotmail.com said ... (12:02 PM) :

Smart look, although for me the highlights are his charming face and old shoes.

Blogger Spencer said ... (5:31 PM) :

LOVE his jacket. And the length of his pants. Very original.

Blogger CW said ... (6:48 PM) :

Awful. It looks like everything shrunk in the washer and dryer but the Doc Martens.

Anonymous Tai said ... (8:12 PM) :

Gah! What's not to love!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:53 PM) :

ooh I think I'm a little bit in love :)

I think I'm in love with this guy. I never meet anyone who looks like this.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:18 AM) :

absolutely gorgeous, what a man

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:23 PM) :

he was also on the cover of monocle a couple of months ago...Tyler sure knows how to pick his cover models

Blogger Post-it boy said ... (4:06 PM) :

This guy looks cool and his shoes look comfy!

Blogger Kanani said ... (4:48 PM) :

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:53 PM) :

Blogger Style Scanner said ... (7:50 PM) :

It's Patrick! looking very Robert Mitchum.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:00 AM) :

Just read Denton Welch - I Left My Grandfather's House. Interesting ongoing monologue about the appropriateness of a blue shirt ca. 80 years ago.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:33 AM) :

Is it just me, or does that jacket make his head look tiny?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:26 PM) :

The George Clooney look.

Anonymous Alessandro said ... (2:49 PM) :

Very nice indeed; I like the blazer and especiually appreciate the detail of the pocket hankerchief and the red-brown shoes. Stylish and personal

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:50 PM) :

I don't know why he makes me think of Rick Astley for some bizarre reason as they look nothing alike.

Perhaps the dashing hair is the extent of it?

The calming bluish hues of his outfit against the brick home in the background is just pure visual bliss.
