I'm in love! He projects awesomeness. "Yay" to shoes and the canvas bag with the leather corners and the whole damn outfit for being unique.

Magnificent (minus the footwear). Great ideas, old fabrics. Bags are eco-friendly, showing he cares.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:53 PM) :

mmm i dont like this very much

Blogger FASHION SNAG said ... (7:56 PM) :

He still looks cool even though the outfit shortens his legs. I haven't seen the socks over pants look in a while! xo

Blogger Steve Schnier said ... (7:57 PM) :

Interesting look. The layers and wrapping reminds me of the work of the French illustrator, Moebius

bt cute face though ^.^

Blogger Jeannie said ... (8:57 PM) :

this is kinda like if will forte was a frenchman.

Blogger Unknown said ... (9:00 PM) :

I guess this is the Parisian equivalent of going to the market in a track or jogging suit, sloppy yet somehow and somewhat stylish.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:03 PM) :

Well, it's all about the bearing. Nothing to do with anything in particular but how he interprets what inspires him. And who he is. Beautiful.

Blogger stephanie_press said ... (9:18 PM) :

Not a fan of the proportions, either. I like the colors and textures, though.

Blogger Zoë said ... (9:22 PM) :

Love it all. The socks over the trousers especially. If only they made pants like that in women's sizes.

The contrasting greys and neutrals... the parka jacket, perfectly suited for the weather, comfortable yet stylish.

A+

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:27 PM) :

He just makes me smile.

Blogger *aja said ... (9:59 PM) :

From the knees down - holla!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:20 PM) :

Yes, he looks short but comfy too!!! He may be a dancer, kudos on the parisian wearing scarfs!

Blogger Anna said ... (10:27 PM) :

hmmmmm... I'm not a fan. It's too sloppy. Looks like he is wearing his slippers and pj bottoms. The color palatte is nice as well as the canvas bag !

H U N K

w/ Chunky proportions.

Cuddle worthy.

Anonymous kristi said ... (10:36 PM) :

I just can't get behind his pants tucked into his socks.

Blogger ra said ... (11:20 PM) :

Seperately, I'm not too fond of any of the articles of clothing, but together as a whole, that outfit is fantastic.

Anonymous The Photodiarist said ... (11:22 PM) :

Forget the clothes . . . He's super cute.

Blogger Gerald said ... (12:55 AM) :

I love the pants...sometimes I dress in weird proportion also, as long as it's still acceptable, it's part of the style. To me, this man is a nice one, I like the coor :)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:14 AM) :

where can I get this kind of vintage bag in manhattan??

Blogger Gillian said ... (1:22 AM) :

This is a sweet personalized looking outfit. I Love the tote bag, and shoes, with the socks pulled up over the tweed pants

The length of his sweater causes the strange proportions.

Anonymous Miss V said ... (2:49 AM) :

He may be Parisian, but he is all Danish! :) Go Kasper!

Blogger Smaug said ... (3:29 AM) :

Blogger U-NI-TY said ... (4:11 AM) :

We love that outfit, so nice!

Blogger Sophisticated Misfit said ... (4:12 AM) :

Although I dislike the articles, the fit and personalised nuances, the colours he wears make it seem as though a part of the streetscape has come alive. That has to be admired.

Anonymous c&v said ... (4:37 AM) :

..i think his look in the eyes is kinda nice - but i can image him really good in a white tshirt and very used jeans..i somehow do not like this style..too much of used brown!

Anonymous alabdin said ... (5:22 AM) :

His look reminds me of the Syrian peasants walking down the city streets of Aleppo in Syria.

This picture calls to my mind a conversation between my brother and I once in Munich Airport summer of 2009 looking at a French store mannequins and speaking about my trip to France. He looked at me and said, "Well, don't go all French and come back wearing those peasant-style baggy pants declaring it to be fashionable!"

It wouldn't be fair to agree with him now looking at the picture, but it's funny how there's this comic truth I find in his words from this picture of a Young Parisian. I cannot help but think of it more like a comic relief.

There's no air of chic about him, but his confidence altogether in going out in the streets looking like that inspires this sense of individuality.

Thanks for sharing!

Blogger Lou said ... (5:55 AM) :

These colors are so Paris - it is city-camouflage! I like the combo of practicality (or comfort) and poetic sensuality as showcased in the details, particularly the patterns of scarf, sweater and trousers. Also, the corners of that linen bag and then the points of the shoes.

Blogger Diana said ... (6:46 AM) :

The proportion is awful. Looks like Toulouse-Lautrec.
The idea is not bad, though (except the socks).

Blogger iida said ... (8:55 AM) :

Oh, oh, oh! Beautiful! Stunning! Could I please have this entire outfit?

The trousers, the sweater, the socks & shoes, the bag, the scarf... It's too beautiful.

The colours and materials are simply wonderful.

Anonymous Nani said ... (8:57 AM) :

I'm sorry but socks over pants... well, iy's not my thing...

Blogger Kathleen said ... (9:31 AM) :

I'm assuming he is about to get onto a bicycle or just got off of one and has been shopping. We must not be too quick to judge. I like his look and he is quite handsome. Very nice use of color and texture. Time for a pint?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:34 AM) :

Thta's the old LL Bean Norweigan sweater I had in high school in the preppy 80's. Interesting combo.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:36 AM) :

He´s hot!

Blogger Alessia Style said ... (9:37 AM) :

Great Look!
Love the shoes!

Blogger Ripped Jeans said ... (9:47 AM) :

i just love his color combination

Anonymous Pete said ... (9:48 AM) :

Hmm, two thirds of him is upper body. Waht’s wrong with legs?

Anonymous Jo said ... (9:59 AM) :

I hardly ever comment. But this look blew me away. The colours, textures, interesting details, proportions.

Well... and he has a hot body (I can so tell despite the layers) and a gorgeous face.

Blogger Prutha Raithatha said ... (10:12 AM) :

its amazing to know how many ppl around the world r soo fashionable

http://donotshoeme.blogspot.com/

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:07 AM) :

This man needs boots or wellies or something. His shoes are not congruent to his urban-outdoorsy look.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:47 AM) :

Is this a version of Flashdance...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:55 AM) :

why we here in Finland do not have as stylish men as he?

Blogger Unknown said ... (11:58 AM) :

thanks guys... just a little extra info :

SHOES : gram (swedish)

SOCKS : cheap old ones

TROUSERS : 'edito kasper harup-hansen' ( my own label . www.kasperharup-hansen.com ... and yes I do them in women sizes as well)

SWEATER : one I nicked from my dad, he's been using it for outdoorr work and working on cars and stuff for 15-20 years..

JACKET : one I got from my ex-girlfriends dad (he used to use it in the danish army)

SCARF : my good friend 'rene gurskov' made it for me

BAGS : canvas/leather bag 'edito kasper harup-hansen' ( my own label . www.kasperharup-hansen.com) only available in my copenhagen shop or thru the website.. sorry
+brown 'muji-paper thingy'....

but yeah something funny is going on with the proportions... but isn't that the funny thing about fashion.... playing around !! ;)

Anonymous Jacob Frommer said ... (12:08 PM) :

Once again, fashion following necessity. Pants are tucked into socks so they don't get caught in the chains when riding a bicycle. Amazing how a form of art follows a constantly changing collection of necessary necessities! Bravo humanity!

http://olderbrothersadvice.wordpress.com/

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:21 PM) :

The colors and textures are well done but the look is not balanced. His top and bottom are disproportionate...he has broad shoulders that end in a point at his feet. The look would have worked better had he kept the pants out of the socks (yikes!) and worn heftier shoes - in my humble opinion ;)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:38 PM) :

I don;t like this at all; the proportion is pretty unflattering.

Blogger AtoZ said ... (1:42 PM) :

I've been seeing this style everywhere on men. Tucking in their jeans or pants in their socks--some men can pull it off...

Blogger C A said ... (1:49 PM) :

The sak is adorable!

Best,
Albert

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:53 PM) :

Yes, proportions are different to recent norms. The longer I consider, I find the outfit creative, soothing, and beautiful overall. :)

Blogger thwany said ... (1:58 PM) :

he's sexy

Anonymous RC Dean said ... (4:03 PM) :

For some reason I'm drawn to this look so much. I have no idea why.

Blogger Sophisticated Misfit said ... (4:25 PM) :

Prutha said...

"its amazing to know how many ppl around the world r soo fashionable."

Hardly amazing. The vast majority of people in the world either cannot afford food let alone designer threads or can afford to look presentable but lack the drive, care and respect for others.

It's grim out there.

Pietro

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:18 PM) :

he's so damn cute but he's not from Paris!!!!

Blogger Rock Couture said ... (6:25 PM) :

He looks so chic!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:18 PM) :

If he were to be to an animal,
he would be an llama?

Blogger millions of cells said ... (9:50 PM) :

A houndstooth? (I can't see the detail that well) scarf mixed with canvas open-toed keds topped with trousers tucked into relatively high socks... Now THAT's what I call a good outfit. : )
One of the best yet!

Keep on snapping,
Anastassia Chepelkevitch

Blogger La petit said ... (5:26 AM) :

Love his bag with leather details
great look!

Blogger Ruth said ... (10:30 AM) :

Parisian in an LL Bean sweater? I don't think so. Cool outfit, though.

Anonymous Pagan said ... (9:10 PM) :

lovely guy, smart choices, but the "pants-in-socks" has got to go.
it's like trying to be different for the sake of being different
not a good look at all!
it's stupid.

Blogger eff said ... (10:53 AM) :

Looks like he tied the scarf carefully to meet the pattern of the sweater-- very nice.
I like strange intentional proportions! What about Coco Chanel???!

I want to learn to tie a scarf that way.

Anonymous Simon said ... (12:25 PM) :

This is amazing.

Blogger Jg. for FatScribe said ... (2:35 PM) :

sorry folks, the emperor has no clothes ... well at least the emperor's clothes are TUCKED INTO HIS PANTS!! if he's two strides from hopping aboard his trusty steed, er, Schwinn, then he's got a pass from me (but, then only for the right pant leg!).

agreed that the rest of him is quite the stylish rake. -Jg.

Blogger Unknown said ... (6:25 PM) :

The scarf is unique. But the rest of the outfit is awful. The oversized sweater and coat, and tucked in pants with shoes like that should never be worn...

Blogger merebuff said ... (11:06 PM) :

don't love this one. It makes him look incredibly disproportioned (is that even a word) and short. I guess I'm a fan of lengthening the leg and not the torso.

Blogger Unknown said ... (2:44 PM) :

I love the French!!! C'est tout!

Blogger Unknown said ... (3:26 PM) :

niiiIIIce!
I wish EVERYONE would look like this!

Anonymous shunammite said ... (12:30 AM) :

reminds me of herbs and tea..and ferns..a green house? :S

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:35 PM) :

Makes me think that he keeps his socks other places than in the street... doesn't do it for me

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:59 PM) :

Love the outfit. Can anyone please tell me what the name of that scarf knot is?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:37 AM) :

Love the style, but no, he is not French. He is Danish.

Anonymous wackotobacco said ... (6:59 AM) :

hmmm...the trousers tucked into socks is a bit of a hot topic. it just seems too contrived, too quirky for the sake of being quirky...hope this look doesn't take off anytime soon

Blogger Tegan Flanagan said ... (4:14 PM) :

I just love this look. Probably because this is exactly the way I dress (not purposely ;) to impress - especially in the fall.. it's really comfy, you drown in your clothes and it is something else.
Living in Vienna I do see some quite bold fashion choices, but a look like this one stands out!
