Denim jackets are back? Aieee - run for your life. Next the leisure suit? Polyester flares? I see a future as a wind sock at a community airport for my skinny jeans!

His attitude looks as good as his jacket :)

Anonymous nico said ... (9:46 AM) :

Is that a brooche I see?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:46 AM) :

That hanky has got to be vintage or with a lace detail that speaks to another age, crochet or tatting. What an unusual choice, along with the little denim flower, for this man. The blues and whites sing a serene melody to me. I love it.

Anonymous Cara Gray said ... (9:52 AM) :

Denim Jackets are back, but from the look of this photo with a bit of a twist... I really love his jacket. Amazing.

The man looks very sharp.

Blogger Lauren said ... (10:40 AM) :

It's incredible how the decidedly "feminine" elements (the patch, the lace hankerchief) don't add up to a "feminine" look- instead, this guy oozes sensual masculinity! Well played!

You gotta love a man that wears a little lace. So refreshing!

Blogger raven said ... (10:59 AM) :

LOVING how fantastically tailored this denim is.
That 5 o'clock shadow + aviator sunnies aren't a bad addition either ;)

Blogger Kathleen said ... (11:04 AM) :

I love this photograph and your subject. What an ironic play of pure masculinity with almost feminine touches to the denim jacket. Sort of mind blowing in a way. Not that it matters to me whether this man is gay or straight, but there is a certain wonderment to all that's going on here. He looks as "manly" as they come, but the suede flower and simple country lace handkerchief throw me way off the beat and track. Big smiles here, he's got my interest! Love the pants, the gorgeous shirt, and the jacket? Whats not to love. He is one sexy man!

Blogger Teresa @ good-grace said ... (11:10 AM) :

Oh my... Love this! Loook at the fine details on the lapel - it looks like it has handstitched topstitching! The ever so slightly faded areas at the tip of the lapels and cuffs. (the only thing that might make it better would be bound button holes, but that may have added too much bulk to the front - impairing the beautiful way the jackets opens in front...) And the peek of the pretty hanky and the tonal plaid shirt - very refreshing in a bit of an unexpected way.

Blogger Mai said ... (11:18 AM) :

That close-up detail of the contrasting denim flower and the lace edged pocket square really illustrates the care that Italian men take when dressing.

Blogger Forest City Fashionista said ... (11:24 AM) :

We'll never see this in Canada. Italian men seem to be able to make anything look elegant and masculine at the same time, even denim and lace!

Blogger kimricosays said ... (11:28 AM) :

i love the lace and flowered pin on this jacket but what i love even more is the dark blue single stitching on outer pocket.

love love love.

I personally dislike the lace pocket square, but I do like the color coordination of the white pocket square with the white pants, and the light blue shirt with the denim.

Anonymous CourdreMode said ... (11:53 AM) :

It looks like the pick-stitching on the lapel and pocket edge was done by hand. Very common on a well made wool jacket, love seeing it with denim!

Blogger Sarah said ... (5:52 PM) :

Hmm... is this Pocket Square & T-shirt man again? If so, he's bringing things up a notch, with a lacy pocket square and a much more prominent little beaded flower.

I wonder what the flowers signify, and if he makes them himself for his own reasons or if it's a bigger trend in Florence.

He's one of those people I'd truly like to ask about their look. I think he looks great, but there are curious little details I want to know about.

Very witty combination of fabrics: the hound's-tooth shirt, the fine denim, and the crochet-edged square peeping from the pocket. Nicely tailored too, though I suspect the jacket sleeves are a bit too long.

I don't know. When I look at this jacket it seems beautifully constructed, but tailored denim just seems goofy to me. I like the lace pocket square though.

This is a great shot, especially because it captures something well rehearsed and slightly off putting, not sure if it is the doily, the cigar or the combination of both.

My vote goes against the sartorial denim. At least here. I would say that it lacks an element of "coolness" that denim implies although, aesthetically, it's an interesting proposition. Everything else works very well, especially the shirt.

I like the contrast of the denim to the glen plaid shirt. However, I like neither the folded ladies' handkerchief/doily/antimacassar or whatever is in his pocket nor the something that looks like an antitheft sensor in his lapel buttonhole. Call it a matter of taste.

Beautiful shirt and outfit. I am surprised by how many comments there are stating how well-dressed the Italians or the Europeans are, and how the women wish they could be with such. I accept that generally, throughout the US, men dress and look like 12 year olds, or just boring, however, NY, Miami, LA, SF? Please Sart., some photographic evidence that certain US men "get it"? tks

As Anonymous pointed out, the Jacket is Lardini. They come with the filt flowers. And yes - the jackets are truly amazing is both style and quality

Only a self assured man like this can get away with wearing a blue poppy and lace handkerchief.

Blue denim blazer a knockout. The pocket hanky looks too much like the trim six year old girls have around the bottom of their leggings but overall he looks pretty good.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:33 PM) :

The look is great but in fact this man could wear old rags and still look gorgeus.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:59 PM) :

Azzuro I have been fortunate to spend much time in Italia
Always in Italia we see a dignity amongst the older generation, that is sadly missing here in the US, except maybe NY of course. I am always so impressed to see the retired men sitting amongst friends, taking the sun and chatting or playing cards. They dress with a sense of decorum and style in their dark sweaters or sports coats, a nice hat. Even those of modest means set an example of elegance to the younger generation.

I really like the boutonniere. Do you have any idea where this is bought ? I think this is not the first of this type I am seeing on your photographs from Italy.
Thank you !
