Blogger diane said ... (10:37 AM) :

I've never been fond of trenches, they just seem to remind me too much of 60's Italian cloak & dagger movies or segments of Natasha from Rocky & Bullwinkle. I think it depends on where you live, city or country.

amazing - but I am curious - live in London and almost never see anyone round about now with bare legs like this at this time of year - though of course we all should cos it really makes the trench!

Blogger 82Brute said ... (11:50 AM) :

Love the badass boots in the first look and the color on the turned up sleeve. In the second? Everything. From slightly demure upswept hair to the perfect shade of red on the dress showing beneath the coat to the touch of red toenail polish peeking out from her incredible shoes, this whole outfit is a knock out.

Blogger CELINE said ... (12:03 PM) :

And the navy and cherry red with the taupe of the 2nd coat is just perfect.

Trench is THE must have in a wardrobe !!! And the little leopard print handbag in the bottom picture is so adorable. It's the Lanvin Happy bag :) So in love with this bag !!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:10 AM) :

I wonder if there will be more and more photos of people engrossed in their electronics instead of looking out to the world for visual information. At least we have you out there observing reality and recording it!

Anonymous TheAL said ... (8:12 AM) :

I really like the touch of lavender on that first trench!

Blogger The Clever Pup said ... (9:29 AM) :

I see you avoided the "on the street and in the trenches" quote by Churchill, I think.

Blogger Eryl said ... (9:37 AM) :

What I find fascinating about these two coats is that they both go by the same name. The top one is very much a traditional trench coat, but the second shows how far it's possible, over time, to push all the boundaries and still be seen to fit them. It is grey, rather than beige, has no belt or (as far as I can see) epaulettes, the waist is high and slightly smocked, even the fabric seems to be different. Yet it is still a Trench: brilliant. It's also gorgeous.

Blogger amber lynn said ... (11:37 AM) :

i just love that second coat!!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:05 PM) :

Do these women really walk around the city in those shoes?

They are gorgeous, the shoes I mean, but they must be killers.

Anonymous LIZPR said ... (7:28 PM) :

Blogger Carolina said ... (10:16 AM) :

I love shoes!

Blogger Kathleen said ... (11:20 AM) :

I like the second photo for several reasons, mostly because of the red peaking out from under the "different" looking trench, and the purse too! But also, she is taking care of her trench. I understand that trench coats can be a more "knock around" type outer garment, but I don't think we should let them start to get the unkept look. Especially when we are dressed to the nines underneath.
