Interesting..

Wow - this photograph is striking. There is so much I love about it: the strong arms, the sheer dress, the black piping and under garments, the similarly-echoed gladiators. So cool.

Blogger Mary Beth said ... (10:59 AM) :

I like the skirt portion of this dress more than bodice for some reason. I'd also like to see some movement..the lightweight fabric and flutter hem begs for it. But this seems like an appropriate outfit for Atlanta, where it's so very hot

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:02 AM) :

she needs a body guard!!!!!!!!! She would have a hard time on the subway!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:05 AM) :

unless she rips of the dress and goes into a gymnastic routine...... she has great arms

Blogger ohnomyboots said ... (11:07 AM) :

Strong lines in a delicate fabric. The ratio of masculine/feminine is perfect and interplays without discord or tension. Beautiful.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:09 AM) :

I love how she is not wearing any makeup. It matches the sheerness of the dress. We can enjoy her beautiful skin, the strength of her character and facial features. A very natural, architectural and pure look.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:10 AM) :

Blogger Whitney Schuyler said ... (1:20 PM) :

I love it. The contrast of her strong build and the soft dress, the fleshy tones of pink and brown combined with the black underthings, trim of the dress, her hair, the headphone cord. And the way that cord curls down to the bottom of the dress, like it's naturally part of the outfit. And I love the mimicked lines in her shoes and the seams in her dress, and then again in the background with the wall and the wood slats.

I would love that dress in my own closet, but she rocks it better than I ever would!

I love her blog too!

I've never seen sheer look so demure and innocent before. This dress is phenomenal!! More women could wear sheer if this is how it was presented on runway. Thank you, Scott for this picture!

Anonymous Tante Olivie said ... (3:31 PM) :

Meant to say not just her blog, her DESIGNS are fabulous. delicate, feminine and structural at the same time.

I'm finding that the Savannah shots are a welcome addition to the usual fashion cities. Thanks for the variety of perspectives and keep them coming!

Scott, you seem to be a big fan of androgyny and it shows through the contrast in this photo: she's wearing such a feminine outfit with her brassiere showing through and yet her hair cut, toned arms, and facial expression is so boyish and she has such a strong presence. I love it!

Blogger Nina Nagy said ... (6:30 PM) :

It's such a striking image-she looks like a dancer-in fact, she is a designer. I just looked at her blog, her creations are amazingly romantic! (she designed that sheer dress as well).

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:51 AM) :

A refreshing change. Slightly bored with the trendy looks of late. This ensemble is like a good painting: not pretty but nice composition and well balanced (kudos to the headphones with BLACK cord), and best of all, intriguing- for although confirmed by previous comments, my eyes still refuse to be convinced of this person's gender.

Anonymous Key said ... (8:42 AM) :

What a great photo, Scott. You've captured a study in opposites; light v. dark, strong v. ethereal, the cold background against the girlieness of the dress... you really have a wonderful eye.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:47 AM) :

HER blog is brilliant and refreshingly unpretentious. Lovely, talented, and a rare individual.

Blogger LaScarparossa said ... (11:27 AM) :

What a brave a risky choice.. even though I wouldn't wear it. In my opinion the fact of seeing her bra makes the look a lot less smart than it could be. But it suits her.

Blogger stephanie roberts said ... (11:47 AM) :

Blogger jane said ... (12:35 PM) :

This photograph hits me hard; it is invoking a lot of sentiments inside me that I cannot clearly verbalize.
Her toned arms mirror her strength and her white nails radiate her purity. Her stance is rigid and solid, juxtaposed (or enhanced) by the flowy dress. The transluscence of the fabric shows that she open; to induce emotions as well as absorb any outside forces that come her way.

This is the strongest image I've ever seen.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:29 PM) :

Very nice looking woman, but the dress does not suit her. Something with a V-neckline would lengthen her neck and balance the arms, which look a bit weighty for a dress that diaphonous.

Blogger yeidri06 said ... (8:22 PM) :

He is really rockin' this dress. I love it! Great color against his skin. Work!

Blogger mridula said ... (1:21 AM) :

If only the dress were a wee bit shorter on her. It compresses her, creating density that I am not sure I agree with. Otherwise this is original. I especially like that the armholes are not piped, appearing to just be cut and not finished at all.

Blogger Eleanor said ... (1:48 AM) :

Anonymous LIZPR said ... (11:32 AM) :

I agree with all the "delicate vs. strong" comments and I love the folds and lining in the skirt part of the dress.

I think a sexy black slip would have worked wonders ... because even with a rockin' bod, unless you're at a high fashion event, walking around in such a sheer dress without one would look odd.
