Did You See Garance's Post Yesterday?

Did you see Garance's post yesterday?

She ran into Sartorialist regular Michelle Jank on Sunday in Paris.

Actually, I saw Michelle too for just a brief moment - but absolutely did not recognize her. The last time I saw her was when I took the below photograph. Wow - talk about a chameleon!

I guess that's one of the traits of highly creative people: an ambition to constantly evolve.

That is absolutely amazing. I don't think I would recognized her if she was my best friend. I wonder what prompts her to make such a tremendous change.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:46 PM) :

Both photos are beautiful and stunning, I particularly love the first look, that dress is a stunner. Though she looks much more sad and almost ill in the recent photograph. As though something tragic aged her- But again, its a beautiful look none the less

Blogger The Foolish Aesthete said ... (7:48 PM) :

I she was so lovely in Garance's post. Hardly recognizable from your photo, but she is equally singular in her style!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:30 PM) :

I love the ability to evolve in fashion. Getting stuck in one image can really limit one's personal style. She looks gorgeous in both pictures!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:50 PM) :

Yes that's definitely Michelle Jank in both pics. The neck piece is her own. She has been creating them for years. Look her up - she's an amazing designer. Elaine

Blogger Unknown said ... (2:02 AM) :

Great contrast! The face seems to me to tell the same story though, and I'm sort of thinking it's not all happy. The change might be a positive attempt to evolve, but the face makes me think she's running away or trying to be distracted. She's definitely a strong person though. Thanks for sharing. Enjoy your work.

Blogger Nomadic D. said ... (2:04 AM) :

Wow, I can't believe that's the same woman! I mean, of course I can, but it is such a ballsy and amazing transformation! Makes me want to go chop off my hair or dye it platinum or something!

Anonymous jeanne berre said ... (2:49 AM) :

Very nice photo. Super model

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:16 AM) :

Minor quibble: I think the light makeup with the dominating black hair and dress is overwhelming. A touch of color to the lips and cheeks would've made her look livelier. This is a minor nitpick, though. She is quite beautiful and stylishly put together otherwise. It takes a lot of courage to reinvent yourself like that. It's nice to see somebody so in touch with their creative aspect.

Cool Australian chick. Great photo's xxx

Blogger portoalt said ... (5:58 AM) :

Personally I don't find such radical changes very interesting. I love it when people have a very defined sense of personal style and stick to it throughout the years... Of course there's room for improvement and evolution, but the foundations are the same. But that's just me! She proves however that she's a very creative person!

I'm hoping that Scott didn't mean chameleon. A chameleon is a creature that has capacity to blend into or match its surroundings (to not stand out...in order to protect themselves). This woman has evolving and dynamic personal style. Not exactly a chameleon. :)
